Clive burst through the front door, immediately spotting the frantic maid pounding on the bathroom door.

"Ms. Salmeron, please calm down!"

Seeing Clive, the maid looked as though she'd seen a savior. "Mr. Salmeron, thank God you're here! She trapped Ms. Jenkins in the bathroom and is beating her! If this keeps up, she's going to kill her!"

Clive lunged forward and twisted the doorknob, but it was locked from the inside.

Liana's desperate, agonizing cries pierced through the heavy wood.

"Ms. Salmeron, I'm sorry, I know I was wrong! Please don't hit me anymore! Help—"

"Caroline!" Clive's jaw tightened in fury. "Open this door right now!"

There was no response from Caroline. In truth, she was entirely incapable of responding.

Every time she tried to open her mouth, Liana shoved her face brutally into the bathwater, making her choke and swallow mouthfuls of water. She couldn't say a single word.

Liana's expression was vicious, but her voice remained pitiable. "Clive! Clive, save me! Ms. Salmeron, I swear—I never tried to seduce him!"

Clive's face was ashen. He pounded his fists against the door. "Caroline! I told you to open the damn door!"

Suddenly, the bathroom fell eerily silent.

The next second, a deafening crash echoed through the room.

It was the sound of something heavy smashing into glass.

Gasping for air, Caroline watched in sheer horror as Liana deliberately slammed her own forehead into the vanity mirror. The glass shattered, and blood immediately poured down the side of Liana's face, making her look both terrifying and deranged.

Caroline always thought she herself was unhinged, but she never expected Liana to be a completely different breed of psychotic!

Liana stared down at Caroline, laughing softly as she smeared the fresh blood across her own face.

"Tell me," Liana whispered. "Who do you think Mr. Salmeron is going to believe? You, or me?"

Caroline gritted her teeth. "You crazy bitch! You're going to pay for this!"
