Chapter 174 Do You Like Him?
Laila’s POV:
I blinked once, then again, just to make sure I wasn’t seeing things.
“Your Highness? What… are you doing?”

The wolf slowly turned his head toward me with elegant, theatrical grace. The wind blew again at just the right moment, lifting a few strands of fur from his forehead and revealing those deep wolf eyes. The look in them was noble, distant, and carried a faint trace of…
I couldn’t quite describe it. But somehow, I had the strong feeling that Samuel was very satisfied with his
entrance.
Raymond, however, instantly widened his eyes.
He looked at Samuel, then at me. Then he suddenly grabbed my hand and pulled me away with all his strength, his little face tense and serious.
Samuel and Griffin were puzzled.
Because of what had just happened, Raymond’s resistance toward Samuel became even more obvious during breakfast.
The entire time, he faced away from Samuel with the back of his head. When Samuel shifted to the left, Raymond tilted the back of his head left. When Samuel moved to the right, Raymond tilted the back of his head right. It was like the back of his head had eyes, perfectly tracking Samuel’s position and firmly refusing to look at him.
Samuel looked completely deflated. I glanced at him and whispered, “Leave it to me. I can fix this.”
“I hope so,” Samuel replied weakly.
I didn’t explain further.
After we got into the carriage, I sat down in front of Raymond and asked gently, “Raymond, can you tell me why you dislike Prince Vance so much?”
Raymond stayed silent for a moment. Then, with a serious little face, he slowly wrote in his notebook. “Third party.”
I took a deep breath. My guess was right.
In the Silvermoon Pack, every pup was taught the same belief. If a werewolf betrayed their fated mate after forming a mate bond, the Moon Goddess would reject them. They’d spend the rest of their life wandering the wilderness, never finding a home.
Raymond was worried that the Moon Goddess would abandon me.

I patted his head and sighed. “He’s not a third party.”
Raymond looked up, confusion in his eyes.
“Holt and I already dissolved our mate bond.”
Raymond’s eyes widened instantly,
He quickly lowered his head and scribbled in the notebook. “Why? When?”

I thought for a moment and filtered out the more complicated parts, leaving only what I could tell him. “Holt fell in love with another she–wolf, but I couldn’t accept that, so we ended our mate bond. Now I live alone in the Silvermoon Pack.”
I didn’t mention Maris.
Those hatreds and blood debts were things I needed to deal with as an adult. Raymond was still under seven years old. He shouldn’t have to carry those burdens.
