The store manager immediately began explaining, “Your Highness, you don’t understand how difficult business is these days. A batch of goods we commissioned earlier turned out to be defective, making them completely unsellable. While others are thriving, Cloria’s has barely any customers. It’s honestly heartbreaking.”
He stepped forward, picked up the ledger, and flipped it open to a page. “Here, this was when you and Ms. Knight put in additional Funds recently. Otherwise, the losses would have been even worse. At least 200,000.”
‘Lies!” Morgana slammed the table, her face turning livid. “No customers? Then why, when I passed by, was the store packed? And plenty of people were leaving with purchases!”
The manager’s heart skipped a beat. Had the princess been there?
When?
Which day?
Then, he suddenly remembered that a clerk had mentioned yesterday that a well–dressed maid had come asking about Bellgari’s bestselling sapphire enamel bracelet…
His eyes flickered, and he decided to take a gamble.“Your Highness, you must be referring to yesterday. That was the only day recently when business was good. We had too much unsold inventory piling up, so Ms. Knight decided to push it all out–even at a oss–so it wouldn’t reflect badly on you. Yes, we sold a lot yesterday, but everything was sold below cost. We’re still running a clearance sale today. If you don’t believe me, you can go see for yourself.”
Morgana hesitated. His tone sounded sincere enough that she almost believed him.
Standing outside, Laila saw the shift in her expression and knew she was being fooled again. So, she quickly stepped inside. “Oh, really?” she said coolly. “Then why did your staff tell me that those sapphire enamel bracelets sold out batch after batch? That design was copied from Bellgari. Are you saying you sold those at a loss too? Let me see if that’s recorded in your books.”
Without waiting, she snatched the ledger from his hands. The manager instinctively tried to pull it back, but he was too slow. The book was already in Laila’s grasp..
She flipped through the pages, then let out a cold laugh. “Well… not a single record of that. Not even the custom gold bracelet Shane had made for me is listed. So what exactly are these books recording? Hmm? Are you falsifying accounts?”
As she spoke, she released her Alpha pressure.
Samuel had been the one to tell her the accounts were being delivered.
The moment she heard, she came immediately just to make sure Morgana wouldn’t be deceived again.
The manager’s face went pale.
His body trembled slightly, but he still didn’t confess.
Laila snorted. “Still won’t admit it? Fine. I’ll go invite Prince Vance and have him question you personally.”
In the Rydar Kingdom, everyone knew what that meant. Samuel was ruthless with enemies.

Chapter 254 She Was Played
He was a man who had slaughtered thousands on the battlefield without hesitation.
In his hands, living was worse than death.
The manager broke instantly.
“No! No! It wasn’t me! It was Ms. Knight! She told me to make the fake accounts to deceive Princess Morgana!”
“What?!” Morgana smashed a cup to the floor. “Jenna used fake ledgers to trick me?”
Laila raised a hand, stopping her. “If all the previous ledgers were fake, then there must be real ones.”

Under the weight of her Alpha pressure, the manager was barely holding himself together. He nodded frantically. “Yes… Yes, there are.”
Laila didn’t waste another second. She had Gracie bring Luke over. “Mr. Acosta, I’ll need you to take two men with him back to Cloria. Retrieve all the real account books from these past years and hand them over to the butler for verification. Check everything on–site as well. If they try to tamper with anything, you don’t need to report back. Just execute them on the spot. Deceiving a princess is a capital crime.”
“Understood.”

Luke hadn’t wanted to listen to Laila. But since this involved Morgana, he eventually agreed.
He shot the manager a fierce glare, then dragged him out roughly and headed straight for Cloria.
Once they were gone, Morgana was still shaking with anger.
“Jenna tricked me? How dare she!”
“You’re easy to fool, and you’re afraid of Estelle. If they didn’t scam you, who else would they scam?” Laila said lightly.
Morgana puffed up her cheek.
She hated people who told the truth.
She huffed. “I’m not afraid of Estelle!”
“Oh?” Laila replied calmly.
Morgana nearly exploded.
But she couldn’t argue. If not for Laila, she wouldn’t even know the ledgers were fake.
Damn Jenna. Damn Estelle. They had worked together to deceive her,
