Estelle’s voice rang out in fury. “That wretched servant! How dare he falsify accounts and embezzle Morgana and Jenna’s money? I’ll make sure he’s severely punished!”
Seeing Morgana had woken up, Laila shifted back into human form and looked at Estelle.
“As long as the truth is clear, that’s enough,” she said calmly. “Since it was the store manager who embezzled the funds, this matter has nothing to do with you. I’ll hand him over to Prince Vance and have him return every coin he stole.”
“Laila!” Estelle called out, her tone suddenly much gentler. “Jenna is also at fault here. She failed to supervise properly and didn’t even notice such a large sum being taken. How about this, you hand the man over to me. I’ll make him return the money. If he can’t, then Jenna will forfeit her 30% share. The entire Cloria’s will be yours. You already know how much it has earned over the years. It will continue to make money. If we give it to you, you won’t lose out.”
“Not just ‘won’t lose out,‘ we’d be getting a bargain,” Laila said with a smile. Inside her mind, Nita scoffed viciously, “That shameless woman! Still trying to dump that rotten shop on you? I’d tear her throat out if I could!”
Laila didn’t get angry. She had long known what kind of person Estelle was.
Instead, she turned to Morgana. “But Princess Morgana has always been generous. She wouldn’t take advantage like that. Cloria’s has always been managed by Jenna, and all the staff there were placed by her people. Princess Morgana doesn’t have experience running a business, so if she takes it over abruptly, it’ll likely start losing money immediately.”
At that, Morgana looked a little unconvinced. But remembering Laila’s instructions, she kept quiet.
Laila glanced at her, inwardly satisfied.
At least at crucial moments, she listened.
Taking out the contract, Laila continued, “So I think it would be best for Princess Morgana to withdraw her investment. Your Highness, what do you think?” Morgana froze.
That wasn’t what they had discussed earlier. Weren’t they supposed to take over the shop?
Why had it suddenly turned into withdrawing?
But she had agreed that once they entered Frostfang Pack, she would follow Laila’s lead.
So, reluctantly, she answered, “Yes, I want out.”
Estelle’s face darkened instantly.
Laila nodded in satisfaction and went on, “Estelle, if Cloria’s had been operating at a loss, then naturally our investment would be calculated against that loss. But since the shop is profitable, then by rights, our share should increase accordingly. However, Princess Morgana is generous. She doesn’t want to argue over every last detail. We’ll simply take back our total investment and our share of the profits. As for any appreciation beyond that, we’ll let it go.”
Jenna glanced at the total figure–810,000 dollars.
By the Moon Goddess, paying that much might kill her outright.

“No. I refuse!” Her face turned ashen. “This was a partnership. Whether to keep or give up shares isn’t something you can decide
alone!”
“That’s easy enough,” Laila said lightly, pushing the ledger forward. “We sell the shop. Starting tomorrow, we’ll put it on the market. But before that, whatever amount we’re owed must be settled first. After the sale, we’ll divide the proceeds seventy–thirty.”
Sell the shop? Jenna almost wanted to laugh. Of course, she agreed. Cloria’s already had a terrible reputation, so selling it wouldn’t fetch much anyway.
“Fine. We sell,” Jenna said.
Laila smiled. “Good. Then, as for the profit, do you intend to send the store manager to the Justice Department first, or will you cover that amount yourselves?”
Estelle’s expression turned extremely unpleasant. The store manager absolutely couldn’t be sent to the Justice Department.
Which meant she had to pay 490,000. It felt like a piece of her heart being carved out. And with that loss, what about Alpha Damian’s side…
