Laila let out a soft “oh.” “That’s true, this can’t really be called your business, Jenna. If the manager is from Blackrock Pack, then we’ll simply announce that the shop belongs to Blackrock Pack instead. It’s a major pack, after all, With Cloria’s strong sales, it should still attract plenty of buyers.”
“That’s even worse!” Jenna snapped, practically jumping to her feet. “Laila, you’re doing this on purpose!”
Laila looked genuinely puzzled. “If the price goes higher, you benefit too. Isn’t that a good thing? I really don’t understand why you’re so upset.”
Jenna was so angry she felt like exploding.
There was no way Laila didn’t know exactly what she was doing–putting on that innocent act was nauseating.
And Morgana was also acting like an idiot. She was just blindly following Laila’s lead!
Wasn’t she supposed to like Samuel? Since when did she start getting along so well with her romantic rival?
Just as she fumed, Estelle spoke, “Morgana, come here. I have something to discuss with you alone.”
She needed to deal with Morgana separately. The girl was naive, so she was far easier to manipulate.
As for Laila, she was like a rabid wolf. There was no reasoning with her.
“Oh,” Morgana said, starting to stand, but Laila caught her wrist.
Morgana froze for a moment as she met Laila’s vertically slit wolf eyes. Immediately, she sat back down.
Laila tightened her grip slightly and let out a cold laugh. “Whatever you have to say, say it here. It’s all the same. Morgana and I are very close, and we don’t keep secrets from each other.”
Estelle sneered. “Is that so? Morgana, didn’t you once tell me you hated Laila the most? And now you’re suddenly this close?”
Morgana stiffened, instinctively glancing at Laila.
Laila’s expression didn’t change. If anything, her smile deepened.
Estelle continued leisurely, “Oh, by the way, are you still in contact with Freya? Weren’t you planning to send her to Samuel’s bed? Did that work out?”
Morgana thought to herself, What the fuck?
“Laila, I-…”
She hurried to explain, but Laila cut her off. “No need. I understand. You were testing Samuel’s feelings for me, weren’t you?”
Her smile remained, but for some reason, Morgana felt a chill run down her spine.
“Yes! And I didn’t actually send her. I told her to get lost!”

Though that was partly because the mating ceremony had been suddenly canceled, it was still technically true.
And afterward, Freya had tried to approach her again several times, but she’d turned her down every time.
Hearing that, Laila nodded, still smiling. “Mm. Very good.”
Inside her mind, Nita was already fuming.
“Morgana is hopeless, Laila! Let’s just leave her! Those hundreds of thousands aren’t even our money anyway!”
“That doesn’t mean we let Estelle keep it,” Laila replied calmly through the mind link.
Besides, Morgana hadn’t gone through with it, had she?
She took a quiet breath. There was nothing to be angry about. Yes, nothing at all.
Meanwhile, Morgana began to sense something was off. A strange tension crept over her.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Estelle still sneering, and suddenly, anger surged within her.
