Lillian shook her head.

“My mom feels bad for me, but she said the same thing. She told me to put up with it. She said that omega could never really take my place. She said keeping up the family’s reputation mattered most.”

Lillian started crying again.

Viola snapped, “Do they even know what year it is? People can marry a second Luna right out in the open, and your parents are still talking about reputation? They want you to just put up with it and won’t let you break the mate bond?”

Lillian tried to stop her maid, still crying. She clutched her chest, her face full of pain.

Laila looked like she could barely hold back her anger.
