The more Shawn talked, the more convinced he became that he was right.

He thought about all those times he yelled at Lillian. Every time, she would still cry and tell him she loved him. In his mind, that meant she liked being treated that way.

He even believed he was “satisfying” her twisted needs.

And when he forced himself on her before–even though she cried–her body still reacted. She couldn’t fake that.

Didn’t that mean she actually enjoyed it?

Thinking of this, Shawn even let out a laugh. “Laila, you can make all the noise you want here, but in the end, Lillian still won’t leave me.”

He looked at Laila. “If you don’t believe me, go ask her right now if she’s willing to break the mate bond.

Hearing him say that so smugly, Laila couldn’t hold back anymore.

“Shawn shut up!” Evelyn quickly tried to stop him, afraid things would get worse.

But Shawn was already furious. “Why should I shut up?! I did nothing wrong! They’re the ones at fault! That bitch deserved to be dumped by Holt! The Conlays deserved to be wiped out!”

Evelyn’s expression changed instantly.

She turned to look at Laila–and saw Laila’s eyes turn ice cold.

The next second, before anyone could react, Shawn was slammed to the ground.

In his shocked and terrified gaze, Laila’s hand moved fast–slapping him over and over again.

His face quickly swelled up.

Tiffany stood to the side, frozen in fear. She didn’t even dare to cry.

Shawn tried to fight back, but he couldn’t break free from Laila’s grip at all.

Laila didn’t stop until she had slapped him 100 times.

By then, Shawn’s face was badly swollen. He couldn’t even speak clearly anymore.

Evelyn felt heartbroken, but she didn’t dare say a word.

Shawn had crossed the line. Insulting the Conlay family’s ancestors was something no one could defend. No matter where this went, they would be in the wrong.

They had no choice but to swallow it.

Laila stood up and looked down at Shawn, who was still mumbling angrily. “If you say one more word, I’ll slap you another hundred times.”

Shawn’s lips twitched. In the end, he stayed silent, though his whole body trembled with anger.

Just then, a servant rushed in to report that Samuel, Titus Whitmore, and Ruby Whitmore had arrived.

Samuel came after hearing the news himself. Titus and Ruby–Lillian’s parents–had been informed by Bex.

Before coming to Thunder Pack, Laila had asked Bex to go to their house and tell them she was coming here to stand up for Lillian.
