But Samuel said nothing further. Instead, he lowered his head and greedily inhaled the scent at her neck before finally releasing her.

Some things… He would rather wait until he returned from the Ovila Kingdom to tell her.

Laila did not press him. She had never been someone who liked to pry.

She believed that if Samuel truly wished to tell her something, he naturally would. If he remained silent now, it only meant the time was not right yet.

She calmly steered the topic back. “If Ms. Livingston is going too, then I can relax a little.”

Greer was practically a terrifying demon to every student in Moonlight Academy. Her combat strength was monstrously high, and her movements were impossible to predict.

Sometimes you could confirm with absolute certainty that she was nowhere nearby, but the instant you violated school rules, she would appear immediately, as though she had been standing beside you watching the entire time.

He stared at Laila without blinking.

Just thinking about not seeing her for at least a month made him reluctant to leave.

“His name is really Cottontail?” Laila asked curiously.

“Mm. He’s been infiltrating the supply convoys traveling from Ovila to Vagen and passing us intelligence through them. He was also the one who verified the intelligence when Solantia’s werewolves disguised themselves as Ovial soldiers. But I didn’t expect him to get captured.”

“Cottontail… That’s such a cute name.” Laila murmured. “Is it a codename?”

“It probably is.” Samuel agreed before speaking slowly. “Laila… I suspect that he might actually

be Terrence.”

Samuel recalled the conversation from earlier. “I heard Terrence loved cottontails very much. Recently, his mother even bought a whole bunch of them from the marketplace to raise at home. If it’s really him, using that as a codename would make sense.”

“Is that possible?” Laila’s heartbeat quickened involuntarily. But… why wouldn’t it be? Back on the Vagen Battlefield, Finneas had mentioned Terrence to her more than once. “As for why Finneas believed Terrence died…” Samuel’s expression turned solemn. The battle was too intense. He had no way to rush over and save him, nor did he know what happened afterward.”
