Chapter 362 The Prisoner
Chapter 362 The Prisoner
Third-person POV:
Three black-clad figures shot forward at
le speed, suppressing their werewolf aura as much as possible.
In truth, there was never any such thing as a perfect opportunity.
Lamps illuminated the area around the building. Though it wasn’t bright enough to rival daylight, every movement was still perfectly visible, especially under the watch of hundreds of eyes. No matter how fast they moved, they would still ultimately have to reach the small building, break through the door, and enter the dungeon.
A
And the moment they entered the dungeon, they would become trapped prey inside a cage.
Samuel and Greer already knew that from their previous scouting.
So their plan had been simple. Greer and Luke would hold off the guards while Samuel rushed into the dungeon to rescue the prisoner. Once he got the person out, he would immediately pass them off to Woodrow waiting outside before turning back to help Greer and Luke escape.
Now, with Terrence and the others joining in, they had far more manpower to keep the guards occupied.
Samuel’s figure lunged straight toward the building’s entrance.
The door was forged from iron, thick and heavy. But he had a way to break through. The curse given to him by someone closest to him had brought him pain, but it had also given him strength. His wolf claws were the perfect
weapon.
Wolf spirit power surged into his fingertips. The moment his claws extended, they gleamed with a dark golden light.
The iron door split apart like jelly beneath them.
Samuel withdrew his hand and kicked forward. The massive iron door crashed inward with a thunderous boom, slamming against the floor and sending sparks flying everywhere.
He glanced back once.
Greer stood guard at the doorway, her wolf spirit aura overwhelming. Not a single guard could get past her. Luke was already locked in a fierce combat against the heavily armed soldiers, fists and claws striking relentlessly.
Samuel wasn’t worried about his teacher. He was worried about Luke. Luke was a Beta. No matter how skilled he was in combat, the level of his wolf spirit was still too low. Beta’s body couldn’t endure prolonged battle, and one mistake could leave him critically injured.
In his final glance backward, Samuel saw Terrence and the others charging out as well, attacking from the flanks and drawing away the guards’ attention.

Samuel finally relaxed slightly.

As long as they could hold this iron doorv und prevent more soldiers from pouring in, he was confident he could rescue the prisoner from the dungeon.
The prison dungeon was basically a massive underground maze of hidden chambers and tunnels.
Originally, it had been built as a strategic military facility. If war between the two nations ever spread here and Ovila could no longer defend the city, this place could be used for commanders to escape or hide.
Once inside, Samuel realized he had still underestimated its scale.
The tunnels branched out endlessly in every direction. He rushed past more than 100 separate chambers, every passage extending one-way into deeper darkness. The prison itself couldn’t possibly be this large. Clearly, the tunnels extended far beyond the prison grounds and connected to other locations outside.
Still, he had another method.
Blood.
A werewolf’s nose never lied.
That thick, rotting scent of blood mixed with the bitter smell of wolfsbane formed an invisible thread that finally led him to the end of the third tunnel.
This door was different. All the other chambers had wooden doors. Only this one was sealed with iron.
The entire tunnel stood empty of guards. That made sense. If someone could already break through the hundreds of soldiers outside and make it this far inside, stationing more guards underground would only be sending them to die.
Samuel sharpened his hearing and caught the sound of weak breathing from inside.
Someone was there.
Not knowing who had been imprisoned, he knocked twice against the iron door and lowered his voice. “Rydar is here to rescue you. If you’re one of ours, answer me.”
After several moments of dead silence, the breathing inside suddenly became ragged and frantic. A voice, unbelievably weal

Not a single patch of uninjured flesh remained on his body. His clothes had been shredded into strips. Exposed skin was covered in overlapping whip marks and burn scars. Some wounds had split open with flesh curling outward, while others had already.blackened and rotted. His head and face had been beaten until swollen and deformed, the eyelids puffed shut until only narrow slits remained. It was impossible to recognize who he was.
More importantly, none of the wounds showed the slightest sign of healing.
