Chapter 370 Traps on the Mountain
Chapter 370 Traps on the Mountain
Third–person POV:
Once Samuel reached the slope, he started hacking away at the bushes.
He ran back and forth across the hillside, leaving chaotic footprints and snapping low branches to create the illusion of people running in panic.

After that, he returned to the end of the main path and set up traps about 50 feet ahead.
Crude, but deadly. Vines pulled taut to trigger sharpened wooden stakes, and tripwires lurking in the bushes like hidden snakes.
The roughness was intentional.
If they were too sophisticated, they’d give away the trick. Crude traps like these looked more like the rushed handiwork of someone cornered with no way out.
Four hours later.
Victor led his troops into the cemetery.
They quickly found traces inside the gravekeeper’s cabin–discarded bandages, leftover medicine, and bedding hastily shoved into a corner.
A few tied–up caretakers were dragged out of the cellar, gagged and terrified. After a quick interrogation, the truth came out.
Seven or eight days.
They had actually been hiding there for over a week.
Victor’s roar echoed through the entire stone cabin. “Samuel, you sly bastard! After them!”
The elite warriors moved ahead first, while the main force followed behind, rushing up the mountain path Samuel had hacked open.
Victor moved quickly with more than a dozen of his strongest werewolf warriors. Before long, they had reached the mountainside halfway up.
They ran into a fork in the road, where two newly cut paths appeared before them.
Victor stood at the crossroads, taking a cold, sweeping glance before a mocking smile touched his lips.

“Cheap tricks,” he said. “Split up. Chase them!”

He ordered ten elite warriors and part of the troops to search the left path, while he personally led the main force up the main path.
But after they had only gone a few hundred feet, sharp screams suddenly echoed from the lower left side.
One after another, like the screams of people being torn apart.
“There are traps! Traps!” someone screamed from below.
Victor leaped onto the branch of a tall tree and looked down from above. In the woods below, several thick wooden stakes were being whipped through the air by swinging vines, slamming heavily into the crowd below.
Just a few crude wooden stakes had already taken out six or seven of his men.
Victor’s face darkened with rage, veins bulging at his temples.
He slammed a fist into the tree beside him, shaking the entire trunk.
“After them!”
The words came through clenched teeth, every word laced with poison.
“This is Ovila territory. If you see Samuel, no need for words, kill him!
“Whoever brings me Samuel’s head will be rewarded with ten thousand gold coins!”
At the same time, far outside Simonne Town.
Following Blake’s orders, Finneas and Callum arrived at the highest peak outside Simonne Town with 3,000 soldiers.
Beyond that point was the territory where large numbers of Rogues gathered.
