My Alpha Wants Two Lunas? I'M Done (Laila and Holt) novel Chapter 433

Chapter 433 Playing the Victim

Thirdperson POV:

By the time Samuel finished dealing with Shawn and returned to Frostwind Pack, it was already evening.

Luke was in the study sorting documents. The moment he saw Samuel walk in, he stood up straight. Your Highness.”

How’s the house situation?Samuel shrugged off his coat and draped it over the back of a chair. The one to the left of Laila’s.

Luke’s face immediately fell.

Your Highnessstill no luck. We still haven’t found the old lady’s daughter. He scratched h head. I told her we could help track down her daughter and asked if we could talk about the house first. She said she wouldn’t discuss anything until her daughter is found.

Samuel frowned. Still no sign of her?

None.Luke sighed. I’ve been checking against the portrait. There are still about ten she- wolves nearby who look similar that we haven’t ruled out.

Samuel sat down, tapping his fingers lightly against the desk. Move faster. I’m not waiting forever.

Luke knew exactly why Samuel was so impatient.

Samuel had mentioned more than once that he wanted to move next door to Laila.

Closer to her means I can get there immediately if anything happens. That was what he said. Luke figured the part he didn’t say was, I want to open my window every morning and see her.”

Yes, Your Highness. I’ll follow up right away.Luke turned and headed out.

Once outside, he glanced down at the portrait in his hand.

A little girl, about three years old. Round face, tiny braids, a sweet smile.

So many years had passed. Where could she be now? Was she even alive?

The old woman had given birth to her late in life, and the child had gone missing at three. No

wonder the obsession ran so deep.

Luke flipped through the remaining list of names, scanning them one by one.

Third from the bottom.

Maris.

He stared at the name for a couple of seconds, then shook his head.

No. It couldn’t be.

He rolled up the portrait, tucked it into his pocket, and strode off.

After Luke left, Samuel stood there quietly for a moment before turning and heading to the room where Greer was staying.

Greer was a teacher at Moonlight Academy and his only mentor. She rarely left the academy This time, she had come to Frostwind Pack to help lift his curse.

The door wasn’t closed. Samuel knocked twice and pushed it open.

Greer was bent over her workbench, holding a flask, her brow furrowed deeply. The table wa covered in scattered papers. Some were filled with complex symbols, others packed with den notes, and a few had been crumpled and tossed to the floor.

Samuel glanced at the sheet closest to him.

Most of it made no sense to him. The symbols and formulas might as well have been another language. But one word stood out.

Dragon.

He paused.

The formula required dragon’s blood? But where would anyone even find that now? Dragons were nothing but legend.

He stared at the word for several seconds, thoughts racing. If dragon’s blood was really needed, just how deep did this curse run? And where was he supposed to find it?

Greer didn’t notice him at all. Her attention was locked on the flask in her hand as she muttered to herself, scribbling rapidly across the paper with her other hand.

Samuel didn’t interrupt.
