“Dad…” Aiden called, his brows furrowed as he spotted his father standing stiffly outside the ward where his blood sample had been taken. His chest tightened with unease. What was his father doing here? How did he even know? He wasn’t surprised since he was in the hospital with his wife and news fly around.

Alpha Alaric turned, his jaw tight, eyes dark with disapproval. “Ailen… I heard what happened to Ethan.” His voice was heavy, the kind that carried both pity and accusation.

Aiden said nothing, but his silence was answer enough. He already knew what his father would say next and as if reading from the script Aiden dreaded, Alaric delivered the blow.

“I hate to tell you this, but I warned you about bringing Amelia back into this mansion. I told you what she would bring, but you refused to listen. And now look at the result…your son’s life hanging by a thread. My grandson’s life, the heir to this. pack!” Alaric’s fist clenched tight at his side, his knuckles white with restrained fury.

Aiden’s jaw locked. “With all due respect, Father, Amelia would never poison Ethan. Never. Why would she, when she has a son the same age? Do you think she would risk another child’s life like that?”

Alaric’s gaze narrowed, sharp and accusing. “Maybe to get back you. Maybe to punish you for what you did to her years ago.”

“You’re speaking nonsense, Father,” Aiden snapped, already turning to walk away when a strong hand clamped around his wrist, yanking him back.

“I am your father,” Alaric thundered, his voice echoing down the corridor. “And you do not dare walk away from me!”

Aiden turned slowly, fury blazing in his eyes. He yanked his hand free with a violent jerk. “And I am the Alpha!” he roared. “I run this pack. Everything that happens here is under my command, and you will respect that!”

Alaric’s chest rose and fell rapidly, his face a mask of disbelief and wounded pride. “I do not recognize you anymore, Aiden. How dare you raise your voice at me…for her? For that woman? Can’t you see what she’s doing to you?”

“I don’t care, Father,” Aiden bit out, his voice lower but sharper, every word deliberate. “Amelia isn’t just any woman. She’s the woman I love and I will protect hewith everything I have golf

He didn’t wait for a reply. He left his father rooted in place, stunned into silence for the second time in one day.

Meanwhile, Cassia pushed open the door to her office, exhaustion weighing heavily on her shoulders. James followed quietly, gently lowering Arthur onto the couch. The little boy curled up, fast asleep, his face serene in slumber.

Cassia’s eyes lingered on her son, her heart twisting with both love and guilt. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she dropped into her chair.

“James,” she murmured, her voice hoarse, “can you help me find new place for Arthur and me? Today. I don’t want to stay in the mansion any longer.”

James hesitated. “But.. we’re still investigating the fire. Until we know for sure….”

“There’s no need,” Cassia cut him off sharply, though her voice tmbled with weariness. “We both know who’s behind it Sofia Her hands pressed against her temples, her entire body seaming with fatigue.

James paused, studying her face.

“Please, don’t tell me you doubt me too,” she whispered, tears bring in her eyes. “Don’t be like Aiden, blinded by her lies and her pretty mask. She even went after my son just like she with Eva God!” Her voice cracked, griet pouring out of her as the tears finally slipped free. If only I had been fully traing, it only I had been able to practice medicme back then. I

could have saved Eva….

Chapter 102

The truth hit her like a blade: It was Sofia all along. All this time, was her.

“I believe you, Amelia,” James said firmly.

Her head snapped up, surprise flickering across her tear-stained face. “Really?”

“Yes.” His voice was steady, unwavering. “The pieces fit. Since she came back into Aiden’s life, nothing but chaos has followed. I’ve always suspected her, though I never had proof.”

Amelia’s hands curled into fists beneath the desk, her determination hardening. “Then it’s time her games ended. I’ll make her life a living hell for what she’s done. She’s going to pay…this me, she won’t escape it.”

James nodded grimly. “She also used Dante. He’s the one who see the house on fire. The same guy who had ambushed you. We’re still searching for him.”

“Do you have a picture of him?” she asked sharply.

“Not a full one. Just a side profile.”

“Show me,” she demanded.

Meanwhile, in Ethan’s hospital ward, Sofia sat slumped in the chair beside his bed, eyes heavy with feigned exhaustion. She was drifting when the door creaked open and Aiden stepped inside.

“Where did you go?” she asked quickly, her tone sharp with suspicion.

Aiden’s glare was ice. “Where I go is none of your concern, Sofia

“Of course it’s about Amelia,” she hissed bitterly.

“Can you just stop?” His voice rose, cutting through the room like a whip. “Stop bringing her up every moment of every day!” He exhaled sharply, turning to look at Ethan, and his anger softened into worry as his son lay pale and still on the bed.

Sofia’s crocodile tears came instantly, her voice quivering with rehearsed sorrow. “My son is fighting for his life because of her. And you…” her voice broke into a sob “you weren’t even here. Instead of comforting me, you’re yelling at me!”

Guilt slammed into Aiden’s chest. He hated her tears….especially how, when Ethan needed peace. With a heavy sigh, he stepped closer and placed a hand on her shoulder, in a comforting manner.

Sofia’s lips curved into the faintest smile. Maybe Ethan’s hospitalization is a blessing. Maybe this is the chance I needed to bring him back to me.

She leaned into his chest, wrapping her arms around him. Aiden stood rigid, unmoving, and refusing to return the embrace. Still, when she pulled back, their gazes locked.

Her pulse quickened, heat rushing through her. Desire flickered her eyes as she reached up, her fingertips brushing his face.

But before she could go further, the door slammed open. Five en strode in, their presence suffocating, cloaked in dark uniforms marked with blood-red insignias.

Sofia froze. Even Aiden stiffened. The moment he saw their arnr, he recognized them.

The Bloodwatch.

Every wolf knew their name. They weren’t just warriors…they were predators, executioners, and hunters of traitors. Parents frightened pups with stories of them: “If you lie, the Bloodwatch will come for you” Whispers spread that they extracted truth through brutal interrogations, blood rituals, and methods terrible none dared describe them aloud.

They answered only to the Alpha and the Council. And when they arrived, it meant death or judgment.

Aiden’s chest tightened. “Did you call the Bloodwatch?” he asked sharply, eyes narrowing at Sofia.

Fear crawled up her spine, though she forced a shaky laugh. “N-No… But it’s good they’re here. Yes. Now they can arrest Amelia. She poisoned Ethan. She tried to kill me. They should take her!”

Her voice faltered when one of the warriors stepped forward, his expression unreadable.

“We are here for Mrs. Sofia Devereux.”

Relief swept over her. She smirked and corrected smugly, “It’s Luna Sofia Miller now. And yes, I’m here. If you’re here to question me and arrest Amelia, she’s in her office. She tried to kill my son and…”

She froze when she caught sight of Amelia and James entering the ward together, standing side by side.

“There she is!” Sofia spat, pointing. “Arrest this murderer!” Hatred dripped from her words.

But the Bloodwatch ignored Amelia. Two of them moved toward Sofia instead.

“We are here for you, Mrs. Sofia Miller,” the leader said, his tone like stone.

Sofia’s smirk faltered. “What? No… No, you’re mistaken….”

“You are under arrest for the murder of Eva Miller, and for the attempted murders of Luna Amelia and her son,” the warrior intoned, his voice a final verdict. “You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you before the Alpha Council. You may request a defender… though few survive our trials.”

He leaned closer, his eyes hard as steel. “Use your words wisely.”

The air thickened with dread. Even Aiden’s breath caught.

And for the first time in a long time….Sofia felt more than scared for her life.
