“The choice is yours, Sofia. Keep the truth buried… or save your son,” Cassia said coldly.

Sofia didn’t answer. Her lips pressed into a thin line as her thoughts tangled. If she confessed, she would be exposed. If she stayed silent, Ethan would die. The weight of it nearly crushed her chest. She bit her lip until it bled, finally lifting her gaze to Cassia.

“First promise me Aiden will never find out.”

Cassia’s eyes blazed. “You killed my daughter, and you expect me to make promises? Be grateful I’m sitting here, speaking to you, instead of forcing poison down your throat and leaving you to rot.” Her voice was steel, sharp enough to cut.

Sofia flinched, closing her eyes briefly before opening them again. “Dante… Dante Colby is Ethan’s father.”

Cassia’s face twisted with disgust. She wasn’t surprised Sofia had betrayed Aiden…dragging another man’s child into his home. What made her stomach twist wasn’t the revelation, but the reminder of how blind Aiden had been, how easily deceived. As much as she wanted to pity him, she swallowed it down. He had chosen Sofia over her. This was the price of betrayal… he would live with this lie forever, raising a son who wasn’t his.

Cassia pushed to her feet abruptly. “Where can I find him?”

Sofia narrowed her eyes. “Dante? You expect me to hand you his address too?”

“If you want your son to live, yes.”

Defeated, Sofia exhaled shakily and gave her the address. Cassia mirked…..a sharp, cruel curve of her lips and then turned to leave.

But Sofia’s voice cut through the air, stopping her mid-step. “You’re not the only one holding secrets. I know yours too.” Cassia froze and turned, brows knitted. Sofia had risen from her chair, trembling but smiling faintly.

“What do you mean?” Cassia demanded.

“You think I don’t know? You’re not married to Damien. Arthur isn’t his son.” Her smile widened. “He’s Aiden’s.”

Cassia’s chest tightened, though her face betrayed nothing. She stared at Sofia in silence, wondering, dreading how she had found out.

“You don’t want Aiden to know,” Sofia continued. “I could tell him… but I won’t, if you keep your mouth shut about Ethan’s true identity.”

Cassia scoffed, lips curling with contempt. Without another word, she turned and slammed the door behind her.

Out in the open air, her control cracked. She marched to her car flung the door open, and sank into the driver’s seat. Her hands gripped the steering wheel so tightly her knuckles turned white. Her bag slid off the passenger seat, forgotten.

How did Sofia know the truth about Arthur? Cassia’s heart raced She couldn’t allow Aiden to ever find out. He didn’t deserve to know. Not after everything he had done.

She would protect Arthur with her life. Even if it meant silencing Sofia permanently.

She started the car and sped off, her mind already racing ahead, she had unfinished business with Elena. The wolf in sheep’s clothing who had smiled in her face, poisoned her daughter, and dared to pretend to be innocent.

Her car screeched to a stop in front of the pack house. Fury rolled off her in waves as she stormed inside.

The cook appeared from the kitchen, wiping her hands nervously. “Luna Amelia…” she greeted softly, bowing her head, at timid smile flickering on her lips.

For a second, that smile almost made Cassia doubt. Almost.

But when Elena saw the storm in Cassia’s eyes, her own smile faltered.

“Don’t you dare call me Luna Amelia, you traitor!” Cassia roared She slapped Elena across the face so hard the woman staggered back, stunned.

“Luna Amelia, what have I done?” Elena asked, clutching her cheek, confusion and fear battling in her eyes.

Cassia slapped her again. This time Elena crumpled to the floor, tears springing.

“You poisoned my daughter! You poisoned my little wolf…my pup…” Cassia’s voice cracked with raw anguish. “She was innocent, and you killed her!” Rage surged, and she launched herself at Elena, pinning her down and raining punches on her face until blood smeared across her skin.

Elena sobbed beneath her, trying to shield herself.

“Amelia!” Aiden’s voice boomed as he and James rushed towards the kitchen. Aiden grabbed her by the waist, pulling her off the maid as she fought like a wild animal.

“Let me go! I’ll kill her!” Cassia screamed, struggling against his grip.

“What’s wrong with you?” Aiden snapped, holding her back.

“You should be asking yourself that,” Cassia spat, wrenching against him.

“You were the one attacking the cook…”

“She killed my daughter! Sofia paid her to poison Eva!” Cassia’s bice broke, but her fury didn’t waver.

“What?” Aiden and James turned to Elena.

The maid collapsed to her knees, trembling, blood dripping from her mouth. “I-I’m sorry, Alpha. I’m sorry, Luna… I didn’t mean to…”

Cassia’s tears finally spilled, hot and relentless. “But you did. You had a choice, Elena! I treated you like family. Of all the maids, you were the one I trusted most. How could you?”

“I’m sorry!” Elena cried. “She had my family. She threatened to kill my mother if I didn’t obey. She told me if I refused or if I spoke a word, she’d slaughter them all. I had no choice…”

Cassia’s sob tore through the room. Memories of Eva’s small, terified eyes as life drained out of her returned with cruel clarity. She had wanted so desperately to save her pup, but she hadn’t been able to.

“I’m sorry…” Elena whispered again, voice shaking.

“Take her away!” Aiden ordered, his own voice rough with fury he fought the urge to shred her apart himself. James obeyed instantly, dragging the sobbing maid away.

When the room was quiet again, Aiden turned back. Cassia stood trembling, her face streaked with tears, her body shaking with grief and rage. His chest constricted at the sight.

Without thinking, he pulled her into his arms. She didn’t resist is time. She collapsed against him, sobbing into his chest, the storm in her finally breaking.
