My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 112

Chapter 112

Meanwhile, Aiden stood outside Cassia’s door and exhaled slowly, his chest rising and falling like he was trying to keep himself in check. His gaze drifted around the quiet apartment complex, but his mind never left her. He couldn’t walk away… not this time. If Cassia refused to come with him to the pack house, then he’d plant himself right here, outside her door, and become her shield.

I failed her once, he thought grimly, I failed her and Eva. I will not fail her again.

He lowered himself into his car, leaning back against the seat, eyes scanning every shadow like a sentry on duty. The Alpha of Red Moon Pack reduced to a guard dog, but he didn’t care. For Cassia, he’d do it.

Inside, Cassia had tucked Arthur into bed and lingered a moment to kiss his forehead. Only when his breathing turned even did she retreat to her own room. She lay down, staring at the ceiling, her body exhausted but her mind refusing rest. Images kept flashing before her eyes….the confrontation, the truth about Sofia, the cruel weight of everything she had endured.

Sofia had killed her daughter. Tried to kill her. Tried to kill her son.

The knowledge cut deeper every time it replayed in her head. She pressed her hand to her chest as if she could still feel Eva’s heartbeat there. Her baby. Her first pup. Her little wolf who had wanted so badly to be an Alpha one day.

Tears slid down her cheeks, but she smiled faintly through them remembering. When she had nearly died giving birth to Arthur, Eva had come to her in that space between life and death, held her hand, and urged her to push. Cassia choked back a sob, whispering, “I’ll never stop missing you, my little wolf.”

Her grief hardened into resolve. She had Dante’s address now. She would find him. She would make him pay. Justice for Eva would come, even if Cassia had to burn the world down to get it And when all of this was over, when the cure was ready, when her family was found and safe…she would leave Red Moon Pack forever.

Her thoughts drifted, unbidden, to Aiden.

The way her wolf stirred restlessly whenever he was near, the way her body remembered even when her heart tried to forget. He had the audacity to say he still wanted her. What did he take her for? A fool? She pushed the thought of him away violently, not willing to let it take root. But the truth lingered, unwanted, beneath her skin….every time she thought of him, something inside her ached in ways she couldn’t name.

Lightning lit up her room, followed by the howl of wind. Rain lashed at the windows. Cassia rose to shut them, but when she peered outside, her gaze snagged on the car parked at the curb. Her breath caught.

He was still there.

Even through the blur of rain, she could see him. Aiden, head bowed slightly, sitting in his car as though keeping watch over

her.

Her jaw clenched. Why won’t he just leave me alone? She yanked the curtains shut, muttering to herself. Let him stay out there for all I care. He thinks sleeping in his car will make me forgive him? Never.

She tried to sleep, but thunder cracked overhead, rattling the was. Cassia jolted upright, her body trembling. Thunder was the one thing she had never been able to stomach, not even as a child.

She forced herself to check on Arthur who was still fast asleep, aceful, unaware of the storm raging both outside and inside his mother. She went downstairs, poured herself a glass of water, and drank in heavy gulps. Yet the restlessness wouldn’t fade.

It wasn’t just the storm. It was him. Knowing he was out there, iis car outside in the rain, refusing to leave. It gnawed at her until she couldn’t take it anymore.

Cassia groaned, threw her pillow across the room, and finally gay in. She snatched an umbrella, her feet carrying her outside before her mind could stop her.
