My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 115

Chapter 115

“Good night…” Aiden muttered, voice heavy.

Cassia didn’t answer. She turned to leave only for Arthur’s piercing scream to slice through the silence.

Her blood ran cold. Fear tore through her spine like ice water. Her head snapped toward the stairs, eyes wide with horror.

She and Aiden locked gazes for a single heartbeat, then bolted together, racing up the stairs.

Cassia shoved Arthur’s door open, chest heaving, and found her on sitting upright on the bed, small shoulders trembling. cheeks wet with tears.

“Arthur! Arthur!” she cried, rushing to him. She gathered him into her arms, clutching him as though she could shield him from whatever nightmare had clawed at him.

“Mommy…” his voice cracked, thick with tears.

“What’s wrong, sweetheart? Was it a nightmare?” she whispered, brushing his damp hair back from his forehead.

Arthur nodded, lip trembling.

Cassia pressed a kiss to his cheek, rocking him gently. “I’m sorry my love. What did you dream of?”

Arthur sniffled, his small voice shaky. “I dreamt… Alpha Aiden died.”

Cassia’s breath caught. Her lips parted in shock, words lodged in her throat. She looked up instinctively, and there he was….. Aiden standing in the doorway, shirtless, only a towel knotted around his waist, his chest rising and falling like he too had been struck by lightning.

Arthur followed her gaze and froze. His eyes widened, brows furrowing as he squinted between them….his mother clutching him, and the half-dressed Alpha in their home, in the middle of the night.

Suspicion flickered in the boy’s stare, but it was gone as quickly as it came, his worry about the dream outweighing everything else.

“Alpha Aiden…” Arthur called softly, relief and confusion mixing in his tone.

“Arthur,” Aiden’s voice was low, steady, as he stepped into the room.

“Don’t you worry. I’m fine. No one can hurt me,” he crouched in front of the bed, his eyes locking with the boy’s. “I’m an Alpha. I’ll protect myself and I’ll protect you and your mommy too.”

Arthur’s small shoulders relaxed slightly at the words, and he noded.

“You should go back to sleep now,” Cassia murmured, smoothing his hair.

But Arthur hesitated. His wide eyes darted from her to Aiden. “Can you… stay with me in my room tonight? So I won’t have bad dreams?”

Cassia froze. Heat shot through her veins.

Aiden’s gaze flickered to her before he answered. “If your mom grees, then yes.”

Both sets of brown eyes landed on her, making her want to sinkrough the floor.

“Sure…” she croaked, swallowing hard. “He can.”

Arthur smiled faintly, then turned to her again. “You too, Momy. Please stay with me.”

Her chest tightened. Panic rippled through her. No. Not this. Not in the same bed. Not with Aiden.

“I can’t, Arthur. Alpha Aiden will stay with you.”

“I can’t ignore it. Two hundred beats a minute, Amelia. That’s no normal…unless…”

“Unless what?” she cut in sharply, her voice trembling with fury he didn’t really feel

His eyes softened, but his tone stayed firm. “Unless it’s me. Unless I’m the one causing it”

“Yes, you’re the one bothering me,” she snapped, venom in her voice. “The fact that you’re shirtless and lying in the same bed with me and my son.”

Aiden stared at her, jaw tightening.

“I’m sorry,” he said quietly. “I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable. My clothes are still drying I’ll go downstairs and sleep on the couch.”

He shifted to get up.

“Wait,” Cassia blurted, sitting upright.

He froze, glancing back.

“If you leave, Arthur will wake up,” she said quickly, words tumbling out before she could stop them.

His gaze pierced her. “Amelia, you don’t want me here. You’re not comfortable…”

“I’m comfortable,” she cut in too fast, her throat dry. “Just… stay

For a long, tense second, he searched her face. Then he nodded owly and lay back down, pulling the duvet over his body.

Cassia stared at him, then rolled back onto her side, cursing herself silently. Why did you ask him to stay? For Arthur…or for you?

Her heart gave her the answer she didn’t want.
