My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 125

Chapter 125

Dante’s hand hovered at the back of his trousers, fingers brushing the cold steel of his gun. His pulse thundered in his ears as the guard’s sharp eyes lingered on him, searching, and assessing. For one terrifying second, he thought the game was over.

But then, the guard shifted aside without a word, opening the path.

Dante released a shaky breath of relief and slipped into the ward quietly closing the door behind him. His legs nearly gave out under the weight of what almost happened. If that guard had pressed just a little harder, it would have turned into blood and chaos.

When he finally turned his head, his eyes fell on Ethan.

The boy lay motionless on the bed, small chest rising only with the help of machines. Wires and tubes were everywhere, connecting him to a beeping monitor that flashed his fragile heartbeat. His skin was so pale, so drained of life, he looked almost like a corpse.

Dante’s mask suddenly felt suffocating. He tore it off and stepped closer, his throat tightening. Tears blurred his vision as he studied Ethan’s features. Every delicate line of the boy’s face mirrored his own. How could he have been so blind?

Memories flooded back…after the welcome party, when Sofia had called him to fetch her. It was the first time he had seen Ethan, sleeping in her arms. Even then, when he held him, something had stirred. A strange connection. But he had brushed it off.

And now, here the boy was. His son. Fighting for his life.

Guilt crashed down on him like a tidal wave. If I had known sooner… If I had protected him and Sofia, none of this would have happened. His vision swam as he reached forward and clasped Ethan’s small, bloodless hand.

“I already donated my blood for you, son,” Dante whispered, his woice breaking. “I promise you’ll be fine. I swear it. I’ll get you out of here, and I’ll take you and Mama to safety. Please… just hold on for me.”

He bent down, pressing a trembling kiss to Ethan’s hand.

“I’m sorry,” he choked. “Sorry you grew up calling the wrong man your father. Sorry for every moment I wasn’t there. But I’ll make it right. I’ll get Mama out, and then I’ll come for you. We’ll leave this cursed pack behind and start over…just us, a family, the way it should’ve been. I promise.”

His vows hung in the air, fragile but desperate. Then-

A noise outside the ward.

Dante’s head jerked up. He quickly wiped his face and pulled his mask back on just as the door creaked open. Two female nurses walked in, their arms full of supplies.

“What are you doing here?” one of them asked, narrowing her eyes. “You should be preparing him for the transfusion.”

Dante’s heart jumped, but he dipped his head low, pretending to busy himself with the bed rail. He made a quiet sound of acknowledgment and slipped past them, his shoulders tense under their suspicious stares.

The nurses exchanged a glance. Something about that man… the didn’t recognize him. But work came first, and they pushed their unease aside.

By the time Dante reached the bathroom, his nerves were fraye He changed quickly out of the uniform, stuffed the stolen clothes deep in the trash, and walked out of the hospital as though nothing had happened

No… no. I can’t. I hate him. I hate him!

She clenched her fists, shut her eyes, and forced herself to breathe.

“Are you alright?” James whispered, noticing her restless shifting

“Yeah… I-” Her voice faltered. She looked up again, and there he was. Aiden, staring at her with a softness that softened something inside of her. The kind of look that made her want to melt into his arms.

“I’m okay,” she whispered, tearing her gaze away before she drowned in it.

The door swung open. Two Blood Watchers entered, dragging Safia between them.

Cassia’s breath caught. Sofia looked far better than the last time, her wounds were closing, her hair brushed back, her beauty weaponized again. They shoved her into a chair and bound her wrists to the armrests.

Sofia lifted her chin, her eyes locking on Cassia. A small, triumphant smile tugged at her lips.

Dante will come. He promised. I’ll be free before the night is over. And when I am… I’ll watch your face fall apart, Cassia

Her smile widened, anticipation glittering in her eyes.
