“I don’t know what you’ve done to me, but I can’t stop thinking about you. I can’t get you out of my mind, no matter how hard I try. I…” Aiden’s voice cracked, his breath hitching as his gae locked onto hers. “I don’t think I can ever live without you again.” he muttered, his voice low, raw, trembling with emotion.

Their eyes met and held. The bond between their wolves surged like a living current… heat, tension, electricity… wrapping around them in invisible threads that pulled them closer, heart to heart, soul to soul. The air thickened with longing and pain.

Cassia blinked, her chest rising and falling rapidly. Her wolf stirred violently within her, reacting to him in ways she didn’t expect. The need to kiss him… to hug him… to tell him that despite everything, she wanted him too. The pull was unbearable. His scent… that maddening, intoxicating mix of pine and rain….flooded her senses until her knees nearly gave

way.

She could feel it… the ache, the yearning, the wild desire clawing through her restraint. The urge to let him mark her, to let him claim what was once his.

But beneath it all was another truth – she didn’t want to want him. She hated herself for it. She hated him for making her feel this way after everything he’d done.

“Amelia, say something… please,” Aiden whispered, his tone breaking her in half. The sound of her name on his lips…the tenderness, the desperation – felt like a blade sliding through her chest. It was a sound she had missed, even when she didn’t want to admit it.

Her eyes burned. She couldn’t look at him. Not when every inch of her wanted to melt into his touch. This was the man who had broken her…. who had humiliated her, rejected her, accused her of killing their daughter. Even though he’d later cleared her name, some wounds were too deep to erase.

“Just go, Aiden,” she whispered, her voice trembling. “Stop making things difficult for me.”

He stared at her in silence, then stepped closer, his jaw tightening. His hand came up to her face, fingers trembling slightly as his thumb brushed her cheek. “Don’t look away from me,” he murmured. His voice was barely a breath.

She flinched, heart hammering. “Aiden…” she warned, but before she could move, he closed the space between them. His arms circled her waist in one swift motion, pulling her against him.

“Fuck,” he hissed as their bodies collided. The warmth of her skin seeped through his clothes, and the spark that shot through him was almost unbearable. His wolf howled inside. Every nerve in his body screamed her name.

This woman this infuriating, beautiful, untamable woman was driving him insane. She doesn’t even realize what she does to me, he thought. She doesn’t know the hold she has over me. I’d worship her if she asked. I’d kneel. I’d beg. I’d do anything just to have her again.

Cassia swallowed hard, her throat tight. Her eyes darted to his Adam’s apple, then to his lips. She could feel the heat of his breath mingling with hers, and her pulse raced like wildfire. She needed to stop this… needed to breathe – but her body wasn’t listening.

Her mind flashed to Damien. If he saw them like this… she closed her eyes, guilt slicing through her chest. Damien wouldn’t forgive her… and she didn’t want to hurt him.

With all the strength she could muster, she shoved Aiden’s chest ghtly and stepped back, gasping for air. “Move on, Aiden.” she said, her voice trembling but firm. “I don’t love you anymor

“That’s not true,” he countered immediately, his voice deep andough. “I know it isn’t. And I can prove it.”

She let out a short, nervous laugh, masking her shaking hands. “rove what? You must be out of your mind. I feel nothing for you. Nothing. I love Damien. He’s the man I want. He’s the n I choose.”

Aiden shook his head. “You’re lying. You’re only saying that to push me away. I can feel it, Amelia. You still burn for me. You can’t hide that from me… not from our bond.”

“Just leave,” she said, trying to keep her voice steady.

“No,” he said, defiant. “I won’t. Not until you admit it.”

She opened her mouth to respond…but before she could speak, voice thundered from behind her.

“You heard her. Leave.”

Cassia froze. The sound of Damien’s voice sent cold shivers down her spine. Slowly, she turned, her heart plummeting. He stood just a few feet away, eyes dark, jaw tight. The air around him crackled with fury.

Her throat went dry. How long had he been standing there? How much had he heard?

Aiden turned as well, his expression hardening into a glare. The tension between them was suffocating.

“Leave. Now,” Damien said, stepping forward, his voice low and dangerous.

Aiden smirked faintly. “I don’t take orders from you, Damien. Last I checked, this is my pack…and this is Amelia’s apartment, not yours.”

A low growl rumbled from Damien’s chest, his eyes flashing with wolfish gold. The air grew heavy with dominance.

Cassia’s heart pounded. “Stop, both of you,” she breathed, stepping quickly between them before things turned bloody. She looked at Aiden, her eyes pleading. “Please, Aiden. Just go.”

Their gazes locked again. For a brief second, the fire in his eyes softened – replaced by hurt and longing.

“Amelia… Dante is still out there,” Aiden said quietly. “I need to protect you and Arthur.”

“I can protect them,” Damien muttered sharply. “We don’t need you.”

Cassia nodded weakly, forcing herself to sound steady. “Damien right. We’ll be fine. Just… please, Aiden.”

Her voice cracked on the last word. She could see the hesitation in his stance, the way his hands flexed like he wanted to reach for her again.

Finally, he sighed… a sound full of pain….and unclenched his fists His eyes lingered on her for one long, heavy moment before he turned to leave. As he brushed past Damien, the Alpha and Beta exchanged a daggered glare, silent but full of challenge.

“Amelia,” Aiden called softly before reaching the door. She turne, biting her lower lip.

“We found Tracy,” he said, his tone heavy with meaning. A faintight smile crossed his lips before he turned and walked away. He didn’t look back. Moments later, the sound of his car engine faded into the night.

Cassia stood frozen, his words echoing in her head. They found racy

Her best friend – alive. That could only mean one thing. If Trac was found, then her mother, her family might be too.

Her chest tightened, her heart racing. The full moon was just two days away. She would complete the cure, give it to her mother, and finally… finally, she could leave Red Moon Pack beld…for good.
