“Cassia, are you okay?” Damien’s voice jolted her out of her thoughts.
She blinked, forcing a small smile. “Yeah, I’m okay…”

“Yeah, I’m okay…” she said, forcing a small smile. Then her expression shifted, worry flooding back into her eyes.
“Where have you been? I’ve been so worried, Damien. I tried calling you-” she paused and continued.
“About earlier, I’m sorry, Damien.” Her tone softened, her voice almost trembling. “I want you as much as you want me. I love you. And I choose you.” She turned to face him fully, her eyes earnest.
Damien’s eyes narrowed slightly, studying her as though searching for truth in her words. His chest rose and fell, and the silence between them grew heavy.
“I’m sorry I made you worry about me,” he said finally, his voice calm but edged with something deeper. “I just needed some space… to think about us.”
Cassia’s lips parted. “Us? Nothing’s changed, right?” she asked quietly, watching him carefully.
He took a deep breath, then stepped closer and took her hands in his, his grip firm but warm. “Nothing’s changed, Cassia. I love you, and I want you. Nothing else matters to me but you.”
He paused, gaze softening. “I want us to get married.”
She blinked, surprised. “Of course we’re getting married, Damien. You already proposed, and I accepted.”
“I know,” he said, voice low and certain. “But I want us to get married soon.”
Her eyes narrowed slightly. “What do you mean… how soon?”
“Next week,” he said. “I want us to get married next week.”
Cassia froze. Her heart gave a nervous flutter, and she laughed softly, searching his eyes. “You’re joking, right?”
“I’m not,” he replied firmly. “You love me, I love you. I’ve waited seven years, Cassia. Seven years. The least you could do is marry me now. We’re mates – we could have the mating ceremony this week and the wedding next week.”
She stared at him, lost for words, her hands trembling slightly as she slowly pulled away from his grasp and took a step back. “I can’t, Damien…” Her voice cracked. The hurt in her eyes mirrored the storm brewing inside her chest. Her heart raced so fast it felt like it would burst free.
Damien’s jaw tightened. Disappointment clouded his eyes. His fits clenched, his whole body trembling as emotion surged through him. “What do you mean you can’t? I thought you love me.”
“Of course, I do! I love you so much, Damien. And I want to marry you-”
“Then let’s get married,” he cut in sharply, stepping closer.
“We will,” she whispered, swallowing hard. “But next week is too oon-”
“It’s not too soon, Amelia,” he interrupted again, his tone rising. If you truly love me like you say you do, then next week isn’t too soon.”
“I’m sorry, Damien… I can’t.” Her voice trembled.
He clenched his fists tighter, his claws slipping out slightly as his eyes glistened with unshed tears. “Tell me the truth,” he

growled softly. “It’s not because it’s too soon. It’s because of Aiden, isn’t it? He’s the reason why-”
“What? No! Aiden has nothing to do with this!” Cassia snapped, eyes wide. “Why do you always feel so insecure about Arden?”
“Insecure?” Damien’s voice cracked, fury and pain colliding. “You fucking kissed him. Cassia Three times – three fucking times! while I was in Velaris, taking care of my sick father! You can’t blame me for being insecure when you’re the reason for it! So don’t you dare- he shouted. his voice echoing through the dark.
Cassia flinched, taking a step back. “Damien-
“I thought you hated him.” he muttered bitterly, his voice now breaking. “How could you let him kiss you? How could you let him touch you?” His eyes burned red at the corners, tears finally pilling down his cheeks.
“You were supposed to be mine, Cassia,” he whispered hoarsely. No man is supposed to touch you except me.”
Images flashed in his mind – Cassia and Aiden kissing, his hands on her, the heat between them. The thought made his blood boil. He squeezed his fists until his claws pierced his palms, blood dripping to the floor.
“Damien Cassia breathed out, horror spreading across her face. “I’m sorry. I-” She stopped her eyes widening at the sight of blood trailing down his fingers.
“Don’t apologize to me.” he said through gritted teeth. “Just marry me. That’s all I want. If it’s not Aiden, then what is it?”
Cassia hesitated, then sighed, shoulders falling. “My parents are still missing. I have to find them and finish the cure. The full moon is just two days from now. And with all the work at the hospital, I won’t have time to prepare for a wedding”
Her voice softened. “Besides, I don’t want our wedding in Red Moon Pack. My mom, your dad. Beta Karl won’t be able to attend here. And I can’t leave until I find my parents, heal my mother, find Dante and put him behind bars, and make the
cure.”
Damien’s jaw tightened as he glared at her. “We’ll find your parents before then. And in two days, the cure will be ready. I’ll help you find Dante. Seraphina and my father can come here for the wedding. We don’t need to go to Velaris.”
He stepped closer, his tone softening but determined. “You don’t need to plan anything. I’ll hire people to handle all of it. All you have to do is show up… looking beautiful.”
Cassia looked at him…at his bleeding hands, at the sadness carved into his face. He was hurting because of her. And she knew how much Damien loved her, how much he had sacrificed.
“Just say yes,” he whispered, his voice breaking. “Please.”
Her heart ached. She swallowed the lump in her throat, knowing he wouldn’t stop until she agreed. “Sure,” she murmured forcing a smile. “Let’s get married next week.”
Damien’s eyes lit up. His lips parted into a wide smile as he pulled her into a tight embrace. She could feel his heart pounding against hers – fast, hopeful, alive. His excitement made her smile faintly too, but deep down something made her felt… hollow
“Come,” she whispered, “let’s go inside.”
They walked into the house together Cassia turned to close the oor behind them when suddenly she felt hus arms snake around her waist. His warmth pressed against her back, his breath hot on her neck
She gasped softly as heat crawled down her spine. Her eyes fluttered shut, her hands gripping the door frame
“I love you so much, Cassia…” Damien whispered, his voice low and husky against her car.
She turned slowly, finding his face inches from hers. He leaned doser, his gaze dropping to her lips. His wolf stirred,

“Mine,” he growled softly, the sound vibrating from his chest as is hand brushed her cheek. His eyes glowed faintly with the golden hue of his wolf.
He couldn’t wait any longer not for the ceremony, not for the wows. He would mark her. Make her his forever. And as for Aiden…
A dangerous smirk ghosted over his lips. He had plans for him.
