Morning sunlight spilled softly through the curtains as Aiden stirred awake. He had barely slept last night, his thoughts were filled with Amelia, but still, he rose early, his mind set on one thing-seeing Ethan. After a quick shower, he buttoned his shirt, adjusted his cuffs, and stepped out of his room, the echo of his shoes following him down the stairs.

In the dining room, he found James seated beside Tracy, who was quietly eating her breakfast. Her face was pale, and the shadows beneath her eyes told the story of sleepless nights. Ever since she was rescued, she’d barely spoken a word. For her safety, Aiden had insisted she stay in his house….whoever had kidnapped her could still be out there.

Aiden walked toward them. “How are you feeling?” he asked gently, his voice breaking the morning calm..

Tracy paused mid-bite and forced a small smile. “I’m okay,” she murmured, avoiding his gaze as she returned her focus to the plate.

Aiden sighed quietly and turned to James. “Can we talk? Alone.”

James nodded, wiping his mouth with a napkin before standing They stepped outside, the air cool and quiet around them.

“Where are you heading this early, all dressed up?” James asked, slipping his hands into his pockets.

“The hospital,” Aiden replied. “I want to be there when Ethan wakes up.”

James nodded in understanding.

“And Tracy?” Aiden asked, his tone shifting slightly. “Has she told you anything yet?”

“No,” James said with a shake of his head. “I haven’t asked. She needs time to recover first…”

Aiden’s jaw clenched. “James, she’s has enough time for her to recover. This is about Amelia’s parents. You should ask her if she knows anything that could help.”

James let out a low sigh. “I will. But have you told Amelia about her yet?”

“Yeah, I have.”

James nodded again and exhaled, eyes narrowing slightly as he watched Aiden speak. “I know this might sound harsh, but I find the timing of Tracy’s reappearance suspicious. And the way he acts around me… she’s hiding something, James.”

James frowned. “She’s not hiding anything. She’s been through hell already. She just doesn’t like you-especially after what you did to her best friend.”

Aiden’s lips pressed into a thin line. He gave a stiff nod. “If that’s the case… then I’ll be on my way.”

James opened his mouth to respond but stopped when his phone began ringing. He pulled it out and glanced at the screen. “It’s Damien,” he muttered.

Aiden’s head snapped toward him. “Damien? What does he wan this early?”

“I don’t know,” James said and answered the call. “Damien?”

“James,” Damien’s voice came through the speaker, calm but firm

“Hey, man. What’s going on?”

“I’m sorry for calling so early,” Damien said. “I just needed to ask you a few things and I might need your help.”

James frowned, glancing at Aiden, who stood silently watching,s curiosity written across his face. “Sure, anything,” James

The line went dead. James lowered his phone slowly and looked back at Aiden

Aiden’s fits clenched at his sides, his jaw tightening, “Why are they getting married to work the rub the var sharp, laced with jealousy.

“No idea,” James said, shrugging slightly, though his gaze lingered on Aiden’s face, sensing the worm building there

Aiden glared at him, then abruptly turned away and strode to his car. Sliding into the driver’s seat he gripped the sering wheel, knuckles whitening, Pain flickered in his eyes, burning behind the anger.

Damien had proposed and now, suddenly, they were getting married?

No. He couldn’t let that happen. He wouldn’t. He’d stop that wedding at any cost

He started the engine, the roar of it echoing through the quiet morning, and sped off.

Meanwhile, Cassia had dropped Arthur off at school and headed straight to the hospital Damien had stayed behind syng he needed to make a few preparations for the wedding.

She hadn’t told Arthur about the ceremony yet nor Seraphina. Everything felt too sudden Too rashed She didn’t even understand why Damien wanted to move so quickly.

With a sigh, she parked in her usual spot and stepped out of the car, the morning breeze lifting her hair as she walked toward the hospital entrance. Her heels clicked softly against the tiled floor as she made her way to her office.

Pulling out her keys, she unlocked the door and pushed it open only to freeze.

Right on her desk sat a bouquet of white roses.

Her favorite.

They looked freshly picked, their petals glowing under the morning light Cassia’s lips parted in surprise. She walked closer heart fluttering, and picked up the bouquet. The soft, sweet scet filled the air, calming her immediately

A small note was tucked between the stems. She opened it and read the words written in neat, elegant harshwriting

“I will always love you. Always and forever”

A small smile curved her lips. There was even a little heart draw at the bottom of the note

“Damien just loves to spoil me,” she thought with a soft laugh “Sometimes I feel I don’t deserve him

“Yes, I have,” she said, smiling. “And I saw the flowers. You didn’t have to, but thank you…they’re my favorite, and I love them.”

There was silence on the other end. Then Damien’s voice came, quiet and uncertain.

“…What flowers?”

Cassia blinked. “The white roses on my table, with a note on them.”

“Cassia,” he said slowly, his tone shifting, colder now. “I didn’t send any flowers to your office.”

Her smile faded instantly. The phone trembled slightly in her hand as she stared at the bouquet, the sweet scent suddenly feeling heavy, almost suffocating.
