My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 152

Chapter 152

Chapter 152

“Cassia, I didn’t send any flowers to your office,” Damien said, his voice low but firm.

Cassia froze. Her gaze dropped to the bouquet in her hands, her breath catching in her throat.

If Damien didn’t send the flowers… then who did?

A cold shiver ran through her. Only one name crossed her mind – Aiden.

But how? He didn’t have the key to her office. Unless he did… and she just didn’t know it.

She slowly set the flowers back on her desk, running a shaky hand through her hair. Her heart raced as the thought spiraled If Damien found out she’d assumed they were from him, it would only make things worse… it would make him insecure all over again.

“I thought you hated white roses,” Damien said on the other end of the phone, suspicion lacing his tone. “You told me cinnamon flowers were your favorite.”

Cassia forced a smile, even though her lips trembled. “What? Of course, cinnamon is my favorite. Not roses or lilies,” she lied, biting her inner lip hard enough to sting.

She liked cinnamon flowers, yes – they were quiet, humble blooms that didn’t try to be beautiful, yet somehow still were. But the truth was… white roses had always been her favorite.

And she couldn’t tell Damien that.

Roses reminded her too much of Aiden… how he used to show up every morning with a bouquet in hand, how his smile would light up her entire world. She didn’t want any reminder of him. So she lied.

“Cassia,” Damien’s voice snapped her back, “do you know who sent them?”

“I have no idea,” she said quickly, her pulse hammering. “It must be a mistake. I have to go now.”

Just then, a knock came at the door. She exhaled and ended the call, straightening herself before opening it.

Nurse Mira stood in the doorway, looking nervous… pale even. Cassia hadn’t seen her since the day she’d made her promise not to tell anyone about the DNA test results.

“Nurse Mira?” Cassia said, stepping aside.

“Dr. Cassia, I’m sorry,” Mira blurted, wringing her hands. “I did want to tell Alpha Aiden anything about the DNA test, but he kept pressing. I was scared…”

Cassia sighed softly, realization dawning. So Aiden found out the truth from Mira. Of course he did. He always had a way of dragging the truth out of people.

“It’s alright, Mira,” Cassia said gently. “I’m not mad at you What brings you here?”

“These are Ethan’s files,” Mira said, handing them over. “Since the blood transfusion, he still hasn’t regained consciousness.”

Cassia’s eyes widened as she flipped through the papers “No sig of recovery!”

Mira shook her head

Cassia frowned. “That’s impossible. The poison should be completely out of his system by now” She ran her thumb along the edge of the file, her mind racing “Something’s not right I’ll examine him myself”

“Thank you, Doctor,” Mira murmured and slipped out.

Cassia made her way to Ethan’s ward. The steady beeping of the monitors filled the room, the soft humn of machines echoing her unease.

She looked at the little boy lying there… so small, so still. His chest rose and fell in soft, even breaths, but his mind was somewhere far away. Everything about his vitals was stable. So why isn’t he waking up?

Maybe it wasn’t physical. Maybe it was something deeper – psychological.

Cassia sighed, pulling up a chair beside his bed. For a long moment, she just sat there in silence.

If his mother, Sofia weren’t… gone, she’d be sitting right here, whispering to him, urging him to wake up. Cassia’s throat tightened at the thought.

She had hated Sofia – gods, she had every reason to. But right now, she couldn’t help but feel a pang of sadness. Sofia had died leaving her son behind. When Ethan finally woke up, he’d ask for his mother. And Cassia didn’t know how she’d ever tell him the truth.

Her eyes softened. “Ethan,” she whispered, placing her hand gently over his, “I hope you wake up soon. Your father’s waiting. Arthur’s waiting too. And… I’m waiting for you.”

A tear slipped down her cheek before she could stop it. She wiped it away quickly, inhaling sharply- just as the door creaked open.

She turned and froze.

Aiden stood at the doorway, silent, his eyes fixed on her.

Their gazes locked, and in that moment, something invisible stirred between them – the pull of their wolves, the faint hum of energy that always sparked when they were near.

Cassia’s breath hitched. She rose to her feet, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. “What are you doing here?” she asked, trying to sound composed.

Aiden stepped inside, closing the door behind him with a soft click. His voice was low, rough. “That’s my son on that bed. Cassia. And this is his ward.”

“I know,” she said quickly. “I was just about to leave.” But before she could move, she hesitated, her curiosity slipping through. “Wait. Did you… send flowers to my office?”

Aiden frowned. “What? No. I didn’t.”

She searched his face for any hint of a lie, but his expression was steady. Sincere. Still, a sliver of doubt lingered. He was the only one who knew her favorite flower. No one else could’ve known.

But if it wasn’t him…. then who had access to her office?

Her stomach tightened. I guess I’ll have to change the locks.

“I guess you’ve got an admirer,” Aiden said lightly, his tone teasing, though his eyes told a different story.

Cassia rolled her eyes and brushed past him, but he shifted, blocking her path. The space between them buzzed with tension, their bodies almost touching She could feel the heat radiating from hum

“So,” he murmured, eyes narrowing, “you’re getting married new week.”

Her breath caught. She froze, her heart skipping. How did he know? She hadn’t told anyone.

“Why the rush, Cassia?” he asked, stepping closer. “Why are you such a hurry to marry Damien?”

“It’s none of your business, Aiden,” she snapped, her voice sharper than she intended. “Now move.”

He didn’t. His eyes darkened, his wolf flickering dangerously beneath the surface. “It’s fucking my business when it comes to you. And trust me, Amelia…” he leaned in, his voice a low growl, I’ll do anything in my power to stop that wedding. I won’t let you marry him.”

She stared at him in disbelief. “Are you threatening me?”

“No,” he said, his tone husky and trembling with emotion. He took a slow step forward, forcing her to step back until her spine met the edge of the table. “I’m just reminding you…”

He paused, his gaze burning into hers – full of love, desperation and something darker.

“… that you belong to me.”

His breath brushed her cheek as he whispered, “You’re mine.”
