“What the fuck are you talking about?” he yelled over the roaring wind, his voice raw and loud enough to cut through the thunder.

“Don’t act like you don’t know!” she screamed back. Her voice cracked, the rain mingling with her tears. “You rejected me. Aiden! You left me! You told me you didn’t want me-that your ex-girlfriend was back. Those were your words.”

Her voice trembled as her chest rose and fell, and the rain plastered her hair to her face and neck. Her lips quivered as she spoke through the ache.

“Amelia…” His voice softened as he took a hesitant step forward, rying to reach for her.

She flinched back, shaking her head violently. “Don’t you dare touch me.”

The storm raged around them, thunder rolling across the darkened sky.

“As if that wasn’t enough,” she continued, her voice shaking with fury, “you stood before the entire pack, on national television and said I killed Eva. That I committed suicide!”

“But I cleared your name-”

“And you think that changes anything?” she shot back, her voice breaking mid-sentence. “You think that erases what you did to me? You think it makes the pain disappear? I died, Aiden! And while I was gone, all you could think about was announcing a pregnancy with Sofia…a child that wasn’t even yours!”

Her shoulders shook as she spoke. “And now you come back, say you’re sorry, and expect me to forget everything? To pretend none of it happened?”

The rain beat harder, blurring their faces, but she could see the gint of tears mixing with the raindrops on his cheeks.

“Amelia…” Aiden’s voice broke. “I know I hurt you. I wish I could go back-change everything. I’m sorry. For everything For the pain, for the lies, for losing you…”

And then, in the middle of the storm, he sank to his knees. Mud splashed around him, but he didn’t care. His head bowed low, his palms resting open on his thighs-a gesture of surrender

“I’m sorry, Amelia. Please… forgive me.”

Cassia’s heart twisted painfully at the sight of him kneeling before her. Her throat burned, her chest tightening. She bit her trembling lip and turned away, unable to look at him.

Her wolf stirred inside her, whispering forgiveness. He’s sorry. t him go.

But Cassia clenched her fists, her nails biting into her palms. How could her wolt torgive so easily when her heart was still bleeding?

“Amelia,” he pleaded, lifting his head. The rain streamed down face, his eyes red and desperate. Lightning illuminated his features-raw, drenched, broken. “Please don’t turn your back on me.”

“Just get up,” she muttered, her voice tight. “We should find help and leave.”

Aiden buried his face against her thighs, clutching her like a man drowning. “I’m sorry,” he whispered, his voice muffled by

the storm.

Cassia froze. Every nerve in her body screamed. Her wolf whimpered inside her chest. He’s sorry. Just forgive him. She looked down at him…her mate, the man who had shattered her and yet still made her heart beat fast in her chest. Her breath hitched. “I…” The word trembled on her lips. I forgive you. But it was too heavy to say. Too soon.

She blinked hard, tears escaping. “I’ll forgive you,” she finally said. “only if you stay away from me and Damien. Move on, Aiden. Leave me be.”

Aiden’s gaze snapped to hers, disbelief flashing in his eyes. “Amelia, I don’t think I could ever move on. Seven years, and you were the only thing in my mind and my heart.”

Her breath faltered for a moment, her chest aching at his words. But she forced herself to stand tall, masking the hurt with cold resolve.

“Well, I have moved on,” she said quietly. “That’s my condition. ither stay away or I leave Red Moon Pack for good.”

He swallowed hard, closing his eyes briefly as the thunder rolled again. “I could live with your hatred,” he said hoarsely, “but not with losing you again.”

A moment passed before he nodded slowly, defeat sinking into his expression. “Fine. I agree. If staying away means earning your forgiveness… I’ll do it.”

Cassia’s lips parted slightly. She hadn’t expected him to accept so easily. Her throat tightened as she looked at him-mud- stained, drenched, broken-but she turned away before pity could weaken her resolve.

The years of pain, of nights she’d cried herself to sleep because of him, echoed in her mind. No, he didn’t deserve her ease. Then thunder cracked violently, so loud it shook the air. Cassia finched and stumbled, but Aiden caught her instantly.

His arms locked around her waist, steadying her. Their eyes me For a moment, the world seemed to still, the rain pouring around them, lightning flashing across the sky, their breaths mingling in the cold air.

It felt like something out of a tragic love story-two souls bound by pain and longing.

Cassia broke the gaze, her chest heaving. She wrapped her arms round herself, shivering. “Stay here in the car,” Aiden said quietly, brushing rain from his eyes. “I’ll go get help.”

“What? I can’t stay here alone!” she shot back, her voice rising in panic as she glanced at the empty road glowing faintly from lightning strikes.

“Amelia, you’re freezing,” he said firmly. “I’ll find a way to reach James and come back for you.”

“I’m coming with you!”

“You’ll only slow me down.”

Her jaw tightened. “I can’t stay here alone!”

He raised a brow, faint amusement flickering in his weary eyes. Why? Still scared of thunder?”

Her face flushed. “What? No! I’m not!”
