My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 203

Chapter 203

Dr. Marvin studied him silently for a moment, his brows furrowing as Aiden’s words hung heavy in the air.

“I don’t think a doctor would lie about it being an overdose, Alph,” Dr. Marvin said, his tone cautious as he adjusted his glasses.

Aiden swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing visibly. He shook his head slowly, his jaw tightening. “Nah. I don’t think that’s correct. That’s why I came here. Maybe you can examine the body… run some tests to tell what exactly it is,” he said, voice low but firm.

Dr. Marvin’s brows shot up. “You’re asking me to run an autopsy on a dead body?” he asked, confusion flickering in his eyes as he studied the Alpha. He couldn’t understand why Aiden seemed so invested-almost desperate-to uncover the truth behind the woman’s death. He sighed, rubbing his temples.

“I’ll have the technicians run some tests. Whatever the result is should be out in a week’s time,” he said.

Aiden let out a short, dry scoff, shaking his head. “One week is a long time, Dr. Marvin. I need the result in twenty-four hours…before the body is taken for proper burial.”

“The family could wait for the autopsy to conclude before taking it for burial,” Dr. Marvin began, then paused as realization dawned on him. His lips parted slightly. “The family isn’t aware of this… are they?”

“They’re not,” Aiden admitted quietly, meeting the doctor’s gaze

“I figured,” Dr. Marvin said, exhaling deeply. “This is a huge task you’re asking of me, Alpha. But… fine. In twenty-four hours. the result should be out.”

Aiden’s expression softened with gratitude. “Thank you, Dr. Marvin. I owe you one.” He stood to leave, but before he could reach the door, the doctor’s voice stopped him.

“Alpha Aiden…”

He turned, his eyes weary but alert. “Yes?”

“I’m sorry to ask but… are you okay?” Dr. Marvin’s gaze swept over him, puzzled.

Aiden frowned. “Of course I am.”

The doctor tilted his head slightly. “You look pale… drained of blood, even. And your eyes…” he trailed off, studying the faint

shadow of red beneath them.

“My eyes?” Aiden asked, raising a brow.

“They look tired. Sick. Maybe you should run a test too,” the door said, his tone lined with concern.

Aiden gave a weak chuckle, forcing a small smile. “I’m okay, Dr. Marvin. But thank you for your concern.”

He turned and stepped out of the office. The moment the door osed behind him, his facade crumbled. He exhaled shakily, running a hand over his face.

How had Dr. Marvin noticed that? The pain, the weakness gnawg at him? His body felt foreign…tired, heavy, as though life itself was slipping away. But last night… that howl, that moment with Amelia, her touch, her kiss-it had given him a strange surge of strength, a flicker of life.

Now, with being away from her again, the pain had returned with a vengeance. It felt as though the pain from his arms was sucking the life out of him, pulling him into darkness bit by bit.

He sighed softly and walked toward Ethan’s ward. If he was going to die, at least he wanted to spend his final hours with his son.

Meanwhile, at the Miller mansion, James stepped out of Aiden’s study, frustration etched across his face. He had been trying to reach Aiden since the night before, but the Alpha’s phone had been switched off. Worry pricked at his chest. He was descending the stairs when he spotted Tracy walking up.

“Tracy,” he called, stopping midway.

He wanted to tell her he still loved her, that he still wanted her, he bit it back and changed the subject.

“Why haven’t you gone to see Amelia since I told you she founder mother?” he asked.

Tracy hesitated, then looked away. “I… I wanted to, but I was scared to go alone to the hospital.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?” he asked, voice tight. “I could’ve taken you there.”

She forced a small, hollow smile. “It doesn’t matter anymore, right? She’s dead.”

James’s brows shot up. Her tone…it wasn’t grief, it was indifference. Cold. Detached.

“And aren’t you going to see Amelia now that she’s lost her mother?” he asked quietly.

Tracy’s gaze hardened. “No,” she said flatly.

James stared at her, stunned. “But why? I thought you were all close-like family. She lost her mom. She needs you to be there for her.”

Tracy let out a bitter laugh. “Why is everything always about Amelia? Amelia, Amelia, Amelia. I lost my mom too, remember? And I lived with it She’ll be fine. I don’t need to be there.”

She straightened, her tone final. “I’m leaving now.”

James watched her, disbelief washing over him. That wasn’t Tracy. It couldn’t be. The Tracy he knew loved Amelia and Evenly like family. Something was wrong-off.

He narrowed his eyes slightly, suspicion flickering in them. Whatever had happened to her… she was hiding something. And he was going to find out what it was.
