My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 208

Chapter 208

Damien walked into Amelia’s office without knocking, still wiping his hands after attending to the patient’s husband. But the sight that greeted him made his blood boil instantly.

Amelia and Aiden stood too close….so close that their breaths mingled. Their eyes were locked, the air between them burning with unspoken words and forbidden heat.

The door clicked shut behind him, and both of them turned sharply toward the sound. Amelia’s eyes widened; she swallowed hard, stepping back instinctively as if caught doing something sinful. Aiden released her chin immediately, guilt flashing across his face.

Damien froze in place. His chest tightened, and rage pulsed through every vein. His fists clenched so tight that his knuckles cracked. His wolf stirred violently beneath his skin, growling lowly, demanding to be let out.

Amelia’s heart skipped. She saw the fury in Damien’s eyes, the darkness brewing there. If she didn’t calm him down fast, things would turn bloody in seconds.

She stepped forward, her hand trembling slightly as she reached for him.

“Damien…” she whispered, her voice barely a breath.

His eyes flicked down to where her fingers wrapped around his hand, then back to her face. Slowly, painfully, his expression softened. The promise he had made to her earlier….not to lose control, no matter what…flashed through his mind. And now, standing here, looking at the man who had once broken her… he regretted that promise more than anything.

He wanted to tear Aiden apart, limb by limb.

Still, he unclenched his fists, exhaling sharply. “For you,” he muttered under his breath.

Amelia let out a silent sigh of relief.

“Leave, Aiden,” she said quietly, her voice tight, avoiding his eyes.

Aiden’s chest rose slowly as he stared at her. The pain that flashed across his eyes made her heart twist. He wanted-needed -her to say something else. To tell him not to go. To tell him she still wanted him and didn’t want him to marry Racheal… But instead, her silence was louder than any words could ever be

Maybe it was time he stopped hoping. She had moved on…with Damien. And even though he couldn’t, he’d have to live with that.

He was about to turn away when Damien’s cold voice stopped him.

“Aiden Miller.”

Aiden paused, his jaw tightening as he turned back. Damien stepped closer, his eyes locked on Aiden’s, fury barely contained. The tension between them thickened, heat radiating off both their bodies. Amelia could feel it… It fekt like standing too close to a storm ready to break.

Damien’s fists curled again, his wolf scratching at the surface, desperate to fight. Amelia’s breath quickened, her wolf on edge

Then, unexpectedly, Damien spoke in a calm tone that sent a shiver through her.

“I just wanted to say thank you for saving Cassia’s life, last night, he said evenly. “She told me you found her unconscious.”

Amelia exhaled in relief, unaware she’d been holding her breath

Aiden’s expression hardened, his jaw ticking. “You don’t need to thank me,” he said coldly. “I’d do anything to keep Amelia safe. Even if it costs me my life.” His gaze flicked briefly toward nelia, his voice softening. “That’s how much I love her.”

His words hit her like a wave. Her lips parted slightly, her pulse racing. The raw honesty in his voice made her knees weak.

Damien’s teeth ground together. The air grew hot, suffocating, as both their scents….Aiden’s earthy musk and Damien’s sharp pine….clashed, filling her lungs. Her wolf whimpered restlessly, torn between the two powerful energies.

“Well,” Damien said finally, his voice dripping venom, “maybe if you’d kept that same energy seven years ago, she’d still be yours.”

Aiden’s nostrils flared, anger flitting across his face, but before he could speak, Damien stepped closer until their faces were inches apart.

He leaned in, his tone low and dangerous. “But you didn’t. You chased another woman and lost her. She’s mine now, and I won’t make the same mistake. I love Amelia…she’s my world. So if you don’t want your head torn off your shoulders, stay the hell away from her and focus on your new bride!”

He straightened, a smug smirk tugging at his lips, and gave Aiden’s shoulder a mocking pat before walking over to lean casually against the desk.

Amelia’s chest tightened as she looked between them… the man she once loved and the man she was supposed to marry. Both ready to destroy each other in her name.

Aiden’s fists trembled. The fury in his eyes was dark enough to burn the room down.

Damien picked up a pen from the desk and began twirling it between his fingers. “Well, since Aiden’s here,” he said lightly. “why don’t we just ask him the questions?”

Aiden’s eyes narrowed. “What question?”

Damien’s gaze

flicked to Amelia. She didn’t speak-she couldn’t. So he continued.

“Amelia’s family was kidnapped,” Damien said, his tone sharp now. “And you were the one who suddenly found them. That gives us reason to believe you might know who was behind it.”

Aiden stared at him blankly, disbelief clouding his face.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I found them by luck,” he said, voice steady but laced with tension.

“Damien…” she called, stepping toward him.

He turned around slowly, his eyes burning with restrained fury. He was furious….not just at what he saw, but at the thought that she allowed it. Still, he bit back every word threatening to escape. Her mother had just died; he couldn’t throw his anger at her now. Not when she was already breaking.

He glared at her in silence, his chest rising and falling heavily.

“Damien, I’m sorry,” she began, her voice trembling. “Whatever you saw wasn’t what it looked like. And I… I’m sorry for all the words I said earlier in the house.”

Their gazes locked, and Damien bit his lower lip hard.

How could he ever stay mad at this woman… even for a second?

He loved her. Gods, he loved this woman so much it hurt. She was his world, the air he breathed. Being angry at her felt like turning against himself. He couldn’t stand seeing her hurt. If he could take all her pain into himself, he would… again and again.

My sweet Cassia, he thought as he stepped closer and gently cupped her face in his hands.

“I’m not mad at you, Cassia,” he whispered, his thumb brushing gainst her skin. “I could never stay mad at you.”

Her lashes fluttered, lips parting slightly as she stared up at him. Damien swallowed hard, fighting the overwhelming urge to kiss her… to make love to her right there, to show her how much he adored her, how far he’d go for her and for her son. But he didn’t know how to show it anymore. Not without crossing lines neither of them was ready for.

He took a step back, removing his hands from her face before his restraint snapped completely. A faint smile tugged at his lips.

“Maybe we should go home,” he said softly. “You need rest, Cassia. It’s been a long day already. Whatever we were supposed to do today, we can continue tomorrow.”

Cassia nodded and sighed quietly.

When they stepped out of the hospital, her gaze instinctively dried toward the garage. She scanned the lot, half-expecting to see Aiden’s car still there. But it was gone… he had left with his soon-to-be Luna.

Her heart clenched painfully at the thought. She forced a deep leath and looked back at Damien, trying to hide the turmoil in her chest.

“Thank you,” she murmured when Damien opened the car door or her.

He smiled faintly, helping her in before circling to the driver’s se. The car engine rumbled to life, and soon they were driving away from the hospital and from Aiden… though not far enough from the ache he left behind.

When Damien dropped her off at the house, he left to pick Arth up from school.
