My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart (Oriana) novel Chapter 113

**TITLE: He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen 113**

**Check In**

After completing her check-in, Oriana collected her crisp uniform from the designated area and made her way to the conference room located on the upper floor. The anticipation in her chest fluttered with each step as she approached the door, the weight of the day ahead pressing on her.

Inside the oval-shaped conference room, a gathering of senior doctors from various departments was engaged in animated discussions, their voices intertwining as they shared the latest medical breakthroughs and debated challenging cases that had come their way. The atmosphere buzzed with intellectual vigor, a stark contrast to the quiet solitude Oriana felt as she settled into her designated spot.

The seating arrangement was clear: the front rows were occupied by attending physicians, the second row reserved for those who had proven themselves, while the third row was where eager interns like Oriana found their place. She had hoped to catch a glimpse of William, her mentor, during her walk over, but her attempts to reach him had been fruitless. With a sigh, she chose a seat in the corner, feeling the familiar pang of disappointment.

As she continued to attempt to connect with him, her phone buzzed with a sudden call. Just as she was about to give up, Cormac strode into the room, his presence commanding immediate attention. The lively chatter faded into silence, and everyone instinctively rose to acknowledge him.

“Mr. Flint, you’re here!” one of the senior doctors exclaimed, clearly eager to engage.

“Mr. Flint, I truly learned a lot from the surgical plan you advised on last time. I’ve been meaning to thank you!” another added, admiration evident in his tone.

“Looks like your student team is growing again. They’re going to be the backbone of this hospital one day!” a third voice chimed in, filled with optimism.

“Mr. Flint…” The room buzzed with respect and admiration, but from her corner, Oriana felt a mix of envy and admiration for the attention he commanded.

Just then, as she prepared to rise and join the throng of excitement, her phone call finally connected. She quickly sank back into her chair, her heart racing as she whispered, “Mr. Harris, where are you?”

On the other end, William stretched lazily, his voice dripping with nonchalance. “Where else would I be at this hour? Still in bed with the sun on my ass, obviously.”

Oriana blinked in surprise, momentarily at a loss for words. His casual demeanor always had a way of disarming her.

“Professor, did you forget today’s the first day of training?” she reminded him, trying to mask her concern with a hint of playfulness.

“Hey, I’ve got a fantastic memory. Didn’t forget a thing,” he replied, yawning as if the very idea of training was a burden.

“The first day’s all fluff. Expert panel, tour of the inpatient department, blah blah. Even with my toes, I could tell you—it’s all just a stage for Cormac to show off. You think I’d go prancing over there? Please. I’m not giving him that satisfaction.”

Oriana fell silent, her thoughts drifting to the crowd surrounding Flint. William had a point; the event felt more like a performance than an educational experience.

All his frustration and misfortune seemed to stem from Oriana’s presence. He glared at her, his eyes filled with an intensity that could almost burn a hole through her.

Sitting right next to him, Luna noticed his gaze and leaned in, her voice a sweet whisper. “James, maybe we should keep our distance from Oriana.”

Her words ignited a spark of anger within him. “I need to avoid her? Who the hell does she think she is?!” he shot back, his voice low but fierce.

Luna feigned surprise, quickly attempting to soothe him. “James, the professor was furious the other day. It took a while for him to cool off. Let’s not stir up more drama. After all, her mentor is Mr. Harris…”

“Ha! That old guy’s washed up and irrelevant. He only still has a name because our professor treats him with courtesy. Give him two more years and he’ll retire. You think she’s gonna be somebody just because she’s his student?”

He glanced around the room, his frustration palpable. “And look, William didn’t even show today. Probably too embarrassed. Without him backing her up, Oriana’s nothing.”

“Luna, don’t worry about me. I know you mean well, and I won’t let those thousand words we wrote go to waste!” he insisted, his determination unwavering.

Luna opened her mouth to respond, but she quickly realized the setting wasn’t conducive to a deeper conversation, so she held her tongue, knowing that the tension in the air was thick enough already.
