My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart (Oriana) novel Chapter 120

**TITLE: He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen 120**

“No need to thank me. Just doing my job.”

Oriana didn’t linger; she offered a brief nod, her expression neutral, and exited the room with purpose.

Zachary’s gaze followed her retreating figure, a mix of admiration and concern swirling within him. He couldn’t shake the feeling that she had been a lifeline, a beacon of hope in the chaos that surrounded them.

Moments later, his father, Bryan, burst into the room, his shirt soaked with sweat from his hurried entrance. The sight of his old comrade finally resting peacefully brought a wave of relief that washed over him like a balm.

“Where’s the doctor who helped break his fever? I didn’t get a chance to thank her properly,” Bryan inquired, his voice a blend of urgency and gratitude.

Zachary shook his head, a faint smile tugging at his lips. “I already did.”

“Good,” Bryan replied, nodding in approval. But as he observed the rare tranquility etched on his friend’s face, a new thought flickered in his mind. “By the way… what does the doctor look like?”

Zachary instantly recognized the direction of his father’s curiosity. “Dad, she’s a legitimate doctor. Smart, composed. I think Barry just got a bit muddled with the fever. Don’t bother her, alright?”

“You’re right. It’s been so many years since the Captain passed… and his wife, his daughter…” Bryan’s voice trailed off, a heavy sigh escaping his lips, regret clouding his eyes as memories flooded back.

When Oriana re-entered the main ward, the atmosphere was charged with the aftermath of a busy shift. The medical team was just wrapping up, exchanging farewells with patients and their families, preparing to transition to the next unit.

Silently, she slipped into the back of the group, blending in with the bustle around her.

Luna, ever the sharp observer, caught sight of her and couldn’t resist the opportunity to throw a sarcastic barb. “Oriana! You’re back? I thought you decided not to work with us anymore.”

James froze in his tracks, his instincts screaming that this was a terrible idea. He quickly grabbed Luna’s arm, perhaps a bit too forcefully. “What are you doing?!”

Luna yanked her arm away, annoyance flickering in her eyes. “James, what is wrong with you? That hurt!”

Leo, noticing the red mark blooming on Luna’s wrist, stepped in. “James, what the hell are you doing yelling at her?”

James’s panic was palpable, his words tumbling out in a rush. “It was an accident! We have tight schedules—what’s the point of wasting time like this?”

“James is right,” Cormac interjected, his tone heavy and cold. His gaze swept over Oriana with a disapproving glare. “This is a professional team, not a playground where you come and go as you please. You left without permission, and now you just stroll back in? I don’t tolerate moody, overly sensitive interns.”

Oriana’s brows knitted tighter, frustration simmering beneath the surface.

But before she could muster a response, a figure surged forward from behind her like a cannonball, shoulders squared and voice booming with indignation. “You old fossil—weren’t you the one who told my student to help treat that patient’s fever? Now that it worked, you’re turning around and smearing her name? What, your brain finally giving out on you?”

The man’s entrance was so sudden and fierce that it left everyone momentarily stunned.

William was undeniably a stubborn, awkward man.

He avoided her gaze, a guilty expression etched on his face, which was utterly ridiculous. He was the teacher here, the senior!

So why did he always seem like the one being scolded?

Unacceptable!

Cormac’s face turned a shade of stone gray, his fury palpable. “William, you’ve got some nerve. Trying to steal credit for your student—what kind of shameless stunt is this?”

That accusation lit a fire within William. The anger he had been suppressing erupted forth, raw and unrestrained. “Steal your ass! It was my student who treated that patient!”

“You hear me? I said it was my student who cured him!”

“My. Student.”

William hurled each word at Cormac like a brick, his voice rising with intensity. “What, you glaring at me now? Talking about credit? Please. That little case was something I’d normally assign to the interns just for practice. And yet here you are—throwing your weight around the second I turn my back, picking on my kid like a coward. Like teacher, like student. And you think you’re fit to become a medical fellow? Yeah right. Let me ask you—do you even deserve it?”

“You—”

Cormac, unwilling to waste another breath on William’s outburst, turned sharply toward James, whose expression was a mix of confusion and fear. “You tell me. What the hell happened back there?”
