“Holy crap, this incredibly luxurious, high–end design, a purely private restaurant… and it really only serves one table a night? What’s the difference between this and booking out the whole place?!”

The moment she opened the menu, Zara let out a shriek. “A whole bottle of cola for a dollar fifty? Air–flown king crab for three hundred bucks each! Oh my god, someone pinch me, tell me this isn’t real? It’s 2025 and I’m seeing prices from ten, no, twenty years ago? A glass of cola in a fine dining place in a big city costs fifty, fifty bucks!!”

Her mouth ran a mile as she compared almost every single price on the menu, her eyes turning red with a desire to devour the entire thing!

Lily gave her a confirming look. “It’s all real. Oriana and I were completely stuffed last time and it barely cost anything.”

Zara’s heart thumped wildly. She leaned close to Oriana and whispered, “You don’t think… there’s some kind of illegal business going on here, do you?”

Oriana blinked. “How could that be? Lily said the head chef here is actually Arthur’s mentor.”

“Then it’s definitely true!” Zara declared with certainty. “What kind of fool would spend so much manpower and resources to run a restaurant that’s basically burning money every single day? It’s no different from setting a pile of cash on fire!”

Oriana found that reasonable. “Then… should we not eat here?”

“Eat!” Zara’s eyes gleamed. “Never pass up a good deal!”

With that, she immediately buried her head back in the menu.

Oriana facepalmed, laughing helplessly.

It was her first time here at night. She turned to look outside, taking in the bustling night view of Jindiwood.

An accidental glance upwards made her pause.

She hadn’t noticed before, but from Aurora House, she could vaguely see the area where Micah’s apartment was.

They were on a parallel line. It wasn’t very clear, but she could faintly make out the lit windows of the high–rise residential buildings.

Suddenly, a suspicion formed in her heart.

Pulling out her phone, she sent Micah a voice message, “Micah, I had basque cake this afternoon, not really hungry for dinner. What do you think I should eat?”

He replied shortly after, suggesting a few dishes, but Oriana showed little interest in them.

Finally, she sent, “Suddenly craving some sour and spicy soup, but I probably can’t get it here. Forget it.”

A moment later, the manager came to take their order. For her portion, Oriana told them to arrange something at their discretion.

Not long after, the servers brought out the dishes. Placed before Oriana was a modified, fusion version of sour and spicy soup–along with a few appetizing, exquisitely plated side dishes, small in portion but beautifully presented and looking delicious.

When Oriana returned home, the TV was on in the living room.

She glanced at it; it was a culinary competition show featuring hundreds of chefs showcasing their skills, complete with commentary during the cooking process. Micah had been watching it for two days, saying he was learning and seeking inspiration to improve her meals.

“Welcome back.”

Micah was wearing comfortable, simple loungewear, pure black, hanging on his perfectly proportioned frame. Combined with his ridiculously handsome face, he effortlessly looked like a supermodel.

He had just come out of the master bedroom, holding clothes they had brought back from the Caldwell Estate.

Even though they had been cleaned before returning, it was his habit to thoroughly clean anything that had left this apartment upon its return. He was about to toss them into the washing machine.

Oriana’s brow arched slightly, her voice drifting over with feigned complaint. “I thought you’d ask me if I ate enough.”
