In that case, anyone could do it. If Grant looked down on this investment, he would use the money to cultivate his own son.
If his son succeeded in the future, bringing honor and glory to the family, he would be the one to benefit.
As for Grant…
He was still an outsider, after all!
Owen, on the other hand, didn’t really care. He had no particular ambitions; whatever he did, he just needed to make a living.
But if he could stay in Jindiwood, that wouldn’t be so bad.
At least he could look out for his sister…
Each member of the Sterling family harbored their own thoughts, and they walked out of the airport.

At the expert’s office of Jindiwood University Affiliated Hospital, Cormac personally washed the cups, brewed the coffee, and poured for the two middle–aged men sitting across from him.
One was the head of the Medical Affairs Department, Alistair Garcia, and the other was the director of a key department, Frederick Perez.
“Mr. Garcia, Mr. Perez, please, have some coffee.”
“You’re too kind, Mr. Flint.”
The two men exchanged a glance, both understanding the reason for Cormac’s special invitation.
For this article review, to ensure fairness, all expert supervisors whose students had entered were participating in the selection.
Cormac held significant sway within the hospital and had made considerable contributions; he was proud and arrogant.
Personally brewing coffee was a first.
It was, undoubtedly, about the review.
Both of them were judges, with voting power.
Alistair pinched the delicate cup, a polite smile on his face as he said meaningfully, “Mr. Flint, you’re certainly going to great pains.”
They were all smart people; one sentence was enough for understanding.

Cormac waved his hand gracefully. “They are all students I’ve mentored myself. Naturally, I hope they can stand tall and go far. Besides…
“William’s student is also participating this time. I certainly don’t want to lose to him.”
With that, Cormac smiled and looked at the two men. “Back during the hospital leadership election, unlike William, who refused your invitations out of self–proclaimed integrity, I supported your rise. I trust you will help me achieve this small wish today.”
“Of course. With your dedication, Mr. Flint, we will certainly assist.”
“Then I’ll trouble you both!” Cormac nodded. “My less–than–stellar student, Luna, is on good terms with the owner of Refe House. When you both have time, I’ll personally invite you to the restaurant to try it.”
Refe House had gained some fame in Jindiwood. Those accustomed to business entertaining knew the value of how hard it was to get a reservation.
The two men were even more pleased, uttering several congratulatory phrases in advance. After finishing their coffee, they left the office.
Oriana, who had just returned from the inpatient ward with William, stepped out of the elevator and happened to witness Cormac seeing the two men off.
The three of them glanced at her indifferently, not paying her any mind.
Oriana’s gaze
slid past them as she pushed open the door to William’s office.
Cormac snorted coldly, “Rude. Just like her mentor.”
Alistair and Frederick also wore unfriendly expressions, sniffing, “With manners like that, no matter her academic achievements, she’s unworthy of a top medical journal. She doesn’t even deserve to be a second or third author!”
Inside the office, Oriana leaned against the door and let out a heavy breath.
The official review was starting in an hour. She didn’t believe Cormac’s private meeting with Alistair and Frederick could be entirely innocent.
Especially since…
They hadn’t bothered to lower their voices, and she had heard every word clearly.
Fawning over those in power and forgetting principles for profit were the unspoken rules of the adult world.
A wry smile tugged at Oriana’s lips. No wonder Luna had been so confident. It seemed she had already anticipated that Cormac wouldn’t let Oriana shine.
A dull ache pressed in her chest. For the first time during work hours, Oriana didn’t maintain her usual rationality. Following her heart, she took out her phone and called Micah.

Micah’s voice was warm and gentle, like the low strings of a cello, instantly giving Oriana a sense of reliance.
“The review is soon. Feeling nervous?”
She sniffled, her voice slightly stuffy. “Micah…”
Just the simple utterance of his name, and Micah already heard the upset in her voice.
The warmth in his tone faded, his voice instantly tightening. “What’s wrong? What happened?”
Oriana took two steadying breaths and told him about encountering Cormac and the two others.
After she finished, there was a long silence on the other end.
Oriana thought he might have lost the connection. “Micah, are you still there?”
“I’m here.”
His breath deepened slightly, and the warmth returned, filling his voice again. “Honey, I’m happy.”
Oriana was confused.
“Yes, it might be bad timing, but the fact that you share anything that upsets you with me first thing… it makes me happy.”
Her somewhat gloomy mood was instantly thrown into disarray by his utterly lovesick remark. Oriana facepalmed, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. “Do you have to be so dramatic?”
“I do.” The affection in Micah’s voice was almost overflowing. “It means I’m in your heart. That me first.”
