Chapter 323 Team Assignments
Chapter 323 Team Assignments.
That was right! If William hadn’t ghostwritten it, how could she possibly lose to Oriana?
William finally snapped. He jumped up from his chair, pointing a finger at Cormac and yelling.
“Bullshit!

“You old fossil, Cormac Flint! Don’t think I don’t know you were sneaking around with Alistair and Frederick before the review! For all I know, you and your precious head disciple had a hand in Luna’s paper too!
“Your own methods are dirty and your heart is black, so you see everyone else as crooked! Hah! Listen, if I so much as touched a single word, a single punctuation mark, of my intern Oriana’s draft, may I be struck by lightning and die in the streets!
“Cormac Flint, dare to swear the same oath with me, you filthy old fossil? Do you dare?!”
On the last sentence, William’s voice nearly cracked with strain.
He was halfway onto the conference table, his face red with frantic anger, as if he wanted to rush over and slap Cormac.
Oriana quickly held him back. “Mr. Harris, please, don’t be angry. It’s not worth it!”
“I don’t want to bother with idiots either, but this idiot is just too damn infuriating! Chasing after people to bite! It’s so damn annoying!”
“Mr. Harris, please calm down.”
Cormac was also momentarily stunned by William’s sudden, rapid–fire outburst.
Being put on the spot like this in front of so many people, Cormac was completely cornered with no way to save face!
And he kept demanding he swear an oath too? Swear his ass!
He’d be insane to follow this mad dog’s example!
“William, that’s enough! This is a hospital, not a marketplace! And you call yourself a chief physician? Where is your civility?!”
“Hey, I’m plenty civil and professional with my patients! Wasting civility on worthless livestock like you is a
waste!”
“You-!”
“Professors, please, both of you, calm down.”
Yael once again played the peacemaker, making a vague gesture to hold both sides back.

“Since you both still have disagreements, how about we publish the top three scoring drafts? Let everyone here be the judge. How about that?”
“Fine.”
“No problem.”
“No!”
Luna spoke up abruptly, a flash of panic crossing her face. “M–my draft… there’s no need to publish it, right?”
Oriana, helping William back into his seat, paused slightly at this.
She looked up, squinting at Luna, who didn’t dare lift her head to face the crowd. Something clicked in her mind, and an idea quickly formed.
A smile tugged at Oriana’s lips, tinged with deep meaning.
“Oriana, did you figure something out?” William, noticing his intern’s rare, sly expression, asked curiously.
“Mhmm. I think I know why Luna got four points.”
“Oh?” William was immediately interested.
“Are you stupid?! Why not agree?”
Bramwell was furious, glaring at Luna. “You said yourself, confidently, that everyone praised your draft, that it was absolutely top–two material! Since they’re willing to make it public now, let everyone judge for themselves!”
Bramwell still held onto hope, thinking Luna could turn this around.
Luna shook her head urgently. “No, Daddy, I…”
“That’s right! Publish them and let everyone compare. Luna, your professor believes in your ability and the quality of your work. It’s definitely not this poor!”
Evelyn was also anxious. “Yes, silly girl! Don’t worry about saving face for Oriana! Let everyone see who truly has the skill and deserves the high score!”
Leo also comforted her, “It’s alright, Luna. Your draft does have its merits.”
Seeing this, Grant also spoke up. “Luna, don’t be afraid. I’m with you.”
Tears welled in Luna’s eyes. “No-”
Cormac tapped the table, ignoring Luna’s protests, and signaled to Yael. “Release the drafts.”
What was at stake now wasn’t just Luna’s face, but Leo’s, and his, Cormac Flint’s!

Luna’s willingness was irrelevant.
Yael smiled and nodded, ignoring Luna’s frantic head–shaking. “Alright.”
With a wave, he instructed his assistant to proceed.

This had been prepared beforehand. The assistant quickly pulled up the documents, projecting them onto the computer screens that slowly rose from the table.
The first one displayed was Leo’s draft.
He had chosen his area of expertise and presented new results from his recent research. It was innovative and professional, earning nods of approval from the crowd.
“As expected of Leo, performing excellently as always.”
“Leo is one of the finest among the younger generation of doctors. His professional level and focus are worth everyone learning from!”
After carefully reviewing it, everyone offered praise and approval.
This made them even more curious about Oriana’s draft, the one that had surpassed Leo’s. Just how brilliant must it be to have won all the judges‘ votes?
Of course, Alistair and Frederick were especially restless.
Back then, Cormac had only given them the general theme, saying Luna was writing about stem cells.
