“No matter.” After resting his eyes for a few moments, Micah’s expression remained detached as he slowly put on his jacket. His handsome face was a mask of calm resolve. “As long as it can cure me, that’s all that matters.”

Nelson opened his mouth, then silently swallowed his remaining words. With a quiet sigh, he called for a wheelchair to take Micah back.

Soon, a masked nurse entered pushing the wheelchair, her head bowed so her features were unclear.

Micah, unaware, waved for Kieran to take over the wheelchair, and the entourage departed.

“Grant, I’m so sorry to trouble you, making you accompany me to the hospital.” Sloane Holloway, her face creased with smiles, familiarly held Grant’s hand at the parking lot.

Grant’s tone was gentle. “It’s no trouble, Aunt. Your health is important.”

“Ah, you’ve always been such a filial child, ever since you were little!” Sloane beamed, then leaned closer, her expression turning hesitant. “Grant, are you really set on committing to Luna?”

She chose her words carefully, “Isn’t it a bit impulsive? You’re still in your career ascent. So many society daughters would be thrilled to marry you in the future. You can afford to be choosy!”

Grant remained impassive. “You previously said Luna was quite good.”

“She is good… for Seabar standards. But now you’ve made a name for yourself in Jindiwood!” Sloane patted the back of his hand. “Times have changed. You, my dear, deserve better.”

Grant dismissed this with a faint smile. “Jindiwood is full of talented people; I’m hardly remarkable. Besides, Luna is fine.”

Grant had arranged a VIP comprehensive service for Sloane at the private hospital. She clearly wanted to say more, but medical staff emerged to greet her and began inquiring about her condition. Reluctantly, Sloane closed her mouth and followed them in.

Grant, hands in his pockets, followed slowly behind, pulling out his phone to handle work

matters.

Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed another large entourage. He instinctively focused his

gaze.

Instantly, a cold smirk curled Grant’s lips. He withdrew his gaze, not wanting to pay attention to Micah’s affairs.

But then, inadvertently, he saw the nurse in white twist her ankle and fall straight towards the man in the wheelchair. Grant’s eyes narrowed sharply, an inscrutable expression crossing his face.

Jonathan had timed it perfectly–the moment Micah began to rise from the wheelchair to get into the car. Feigning a stumble while offering support, she fell towards him.

Her calculations were precise. She angled the side of her face most resembling Oriana’s towards Micah. If she fell into his arms and her mask ‘accidentally‘ slipped, he would remember her!

Everything was perfectly planned. Jonathan closed her eyes in anticipated bliss.

However, a sharp pain suddenly shot through her arm. Jonathan’s eyes flew open in disbelief- Kieran was brutally yanking her arm, pulling her aside.

He was essentially throwing her away, sending her crashing to the ground.

To an outside observer, it might have looked like she landed on Micah’s wheelchair.

Furious, Jonathan looked up, glaring venomously at Kieran for ruining her plan again.

But her gaze unexpectedly met the man’s utterly cold eyes, his stare feeling physically heavy on her face, making her scalp prickle.

“Kieran, remove her mask.”

“Yes, Sir.”

Before Jonathan could stop him, her mask was roughly torn off, revealing her panicked, flustered face.

Kieran gasped upon seeing it. “Sir, this-” He immediately looked at Micah, who was staring directly at Jonathan.

His face was dark and unreadable, his emotions inscrutable.
