She hadn’t reached out to either parent since the plagiarism scandal, leaving Owen as her only contact. Their parental neglect was stark.

Evelyn, catching fragments of the conversation, buzzed with excited disbelief. “A proposal? Finally!”

Owen watched his father’s poorly concealed smirk with uncase. “You’ve actually forgiven her, Dad?”

“Foolish boy,” Bramwell chided, his earlier fury replaced by a calculating calm. “As I said, family disputes shouldn’t linger. What matters is the Sterling family’s advancement, nothing else.” He patted Owen’s shoulder with feigned affection. “If your sister marries Grant, we all benefit. As for the Top Talent Program… I’ve devised an alternative approach.”

As dusk settled, Jindiwood transformed into a Valentine’s paradise. Streets glowed with romantic lighting, adorned with countless flowers and heart–shaped balloons.

Oriana arrived at Aurora House to find valets busy with arriving couples. “Mr. Wren? You’re already on your way? Thank you so much – I truly appreciate everyone helping with Micah’s surprise,” she gushed into her phone, her cheeks flushed with gratitude.

“Don’t mention it!” Jett chuckled. “My wife and I are happy to help. It’s refreshing to witness young love!”

Blushing, Oriana replied, “I’ll go prepare now. Keep in touch.”

After ending the call, she approached the building shared by Aurora House and the exclusive Refe restaurant. A commotion near Refe’s elevator bank caught her attention – well–dressed guests were being blocked from entering.

Her smile faded as she recognized the source of the disturbance.

“The restaurant is closed for a private event tonight!” Bramwell declared, preening in his burgundy suit. “My future son–in–law has booked it for my daughter’s proposal. Take your celebrations elsewhere!”

“Are you joking?” a man in the blocked party retorted. “We made these Valentine’s reservations a month ago! What does your daughter’s proposal have to do with us?”

“Reservations mean nothing tonight,” Bramwell waved dismissively. “Even the owner answers to my daughter. We can’t have the ambiance ruined by outsiders.”

Resplendent in a deep crimson suit, Bramwell stood beaming with self–satisfaction, arrogantly ordering the guests away as if it were his divine right.

These were patrons who had secured the near–impossible Valentine’s reservations at Refe, each dressed meticulously for the occasion in their finest attire. To be confronted by such unreasonable obstruction left them fuming, and they immediately began calling the restaurant

manager.
