Kai had thought it was something that could be settled in minutes. But barely five minutes after he sent the request, the stylist politely declined.
Frowning, Kai called for a short break from the commercial shoot he was working on and walked to the lounge to make a phone call.
“What do you mean you can’t take the order? Finding a gown shouldn’t be that hard, right?”
“It’s not hard,” the stylist admitted truthfully. “But Ms. Sterling offended a few designers from top couture studios in Jindiwood recently. They’ve issued a joint statement refusing to serve her. Since most brands are connected in some way, we don’t want to make things awkward for ourselves.”
“Offended?” Kai gave a cold laugh. “Luna’s gentle, kind, and always considerate. How could she possibly offend anyone? Sounds more like those pretentious designers are picking on her.”
The stylist sounded desperate to clear his name. “Kai, come on. In our line of work, new clients are a blessing. Who in their right mind would turn one away?”
“So what exactly did Luna do?”
?
The stylist sighed. “Ms. Sterling went into one of the designer studios and said their gowns looked cheap and unrefined. She demanded they show her something better. Her attitude didn’t sit well with them, so they all refused to serve her.”
Kai narrowed his eyes. “Are you sure we’re talking about the same person?”
The Luna he knew was soft–spoken, thoughtful, and impossibly gentle–someone who would never say something so cruel or condescending.
“I’m sure,” the stylist replied quickly. “I sent her photo to several studios, and they all rejected it immediately. There’s no mistake. I wouldn’t slander a good person without reason.”
Kai went silent.
It wasn’t until the stylist called his name a few times that he finally snapped back to reality.
After a moment’s thought, he said, “Then just get something from a luxury brand. Don’t use her photo- just buy based on her measurements.”
“Alright.”
“Also,” Kai added, “ask those private studios if they have any security footage of the incident. I want to see for myself if it’s really her.”
The stylist hadn’t expected Kai to be this persistent, but he agreed and went to make inquiries.
Not long after, he actually got the footage.
The video had already spread internally–apparently so notorious that even people just passing by had

cursed after watching it.
When Kai received the file, the frozen image on the cover was unmistakable. It was Luna.
The proof was undeniable.
“Kai, you’re up next!” someone called.
“Coming!”

Taking several deep breaths, Kai couldn’t bring himself to hit play. Just then, the director called for action, and he shut off his phone, forcing his focus back onto work.
An hour later, when the shoot wrapped, he finally returned to the lounge.
A few new messages were waiting for him–one from the stylist confirming the gown order, and another from Luna, asking if he’d found one for her yet.
Kai stared at her message for a long time before finally closing the chat and opening the video.
The footage was crystal clear–every twitch of Luna’s expression captured frame by frame.
He watched, frozen, as the woman who had always been soft–spoken and considerate in front of him turned venomous toward a service worker. Her tone was sharp, her gaze cold and disdainful—her face twisted with arrogance.
He could hardly believe it. That sneering, scornful look on her face?
It felt alien, almost monstrous.
Kai’s manager, who had been watching from the side, let out a long sigh. “You’ve been in the industry long enough, man. You’ve seen people who act sweet in public and rotten in private. This shouldn’t surprise you.”
Kai’s hands trembled slightly. He didn’t stop the video; it looped back to the beginning automatically. Luna’s vicious expression appeared again, and again.
Slamming the screen dark, Kai clenched his jaw so tight the muscles in his face twitched. Anger, disbelief, shame–every emotion collided in his chest like a storm.
“She’s not from the entertainment industry,” he snapped. “She’s different!”
His manager gave a humorless chuckle. “The entertainment industry just magnifies what’s already in people. Hypocrisy doesn’t only live here.”
He jerked his chin toward the phone. “Well, you’ve seen it for yourself now, haven’t you?”
When Kai’s expression darkened like a thundercloud, the manager wisely stopped talking. He set a bottle of water on the table and slipped out quietly.
