Chapter 401 The Plan
Oriana looked puzzled as her eyes met Xander’s. “Xander?”
Noah caught the expression right away, his brows arching in surprise. “What’s that look supposed to mean?”
Xander let out a long sigh. He stared at Oriana for a moment, as if choosing his words. carefully, before finally saying, “Oriana, sorry that you’ve suffered a lot over the years.”
Oriana froze for a second, then realization slowly dawned on her face.
She clasped her hands nervously in front of her. “You found out about my biological parents?”
“Yes.” Xander nodded gravely. “I never imagined Niall’s child would be you. Years ago, Luna came to the compound with Niall’s medal of honor. I pitied her. She was young, and her parents were gone, so I asked a few people to look after her.
“I didn’t expect that small act of kindness to make her so audacious. She took advantage of my name, using it to help the Sterling family and Grant gain benefits everywhere. She even made things difficult for you and went so far as to conceal the truth about your switched identities, ensuring we couldn’t find you!”
Oriana finally understood everything that had confused her for so many years.
At Xander’s words, those old puzzles now fell neatly into place.
Luna had been brought back to the Sterling family and quickly won Bramwell’s affection–not just because she was his biological daughter or because he felt guilty for her hardships. There was another key reason.
Luna had solved a major problem for Bramwell’s company at the time.
From then on, Bramwell gave her his full attention, taking her to high–society events and grooming her to succeed.
A
That was the daughter Bramwell had always wanted Oriana to become–but she hadn’t turned out the way he expected.
Luna had done it. And Oriana didn’t envy her. People made different choices in life; there was no need for comparison.
But what shocked Oriana most was realizing that Luna hadn’t just deceived Leo and the others; she had even fooled Xander!

Noah, who had been listening in mild confusion, suddenly exploded once he pieced it all together.
“Unbelievable!” he snapped. “So you’re telling me you actually helped the Sterling family– those shameless crooks–live the good life? You even sent them business deals? You really have gotten old, Xander. Your judgment’s gone soft!”
Xander’s face darkened with embarrassment.
He drew in a steadying breath before turning to Oriana again. His tone was deep, resolute. “Oriana, don’t worry. Even if Noah says nothing, I’ll make sure your grievances are set right. I’ll get back everything Luna stole from you under your name–one by one.”
“Don’t you worry, Oriana,” Noah added fiercely, stepping protectively behind her with his hands on his hips. “I’ll be your witness. If Xander fails to keep his word, I’ll personally make him pay–and then I’ll deal with the Sterling family myself!”
Feeling both men’s fierce loyalty warmed Oriana’s heart.
A small smile curved her lips as she looked at Xander with clear, steady eyes. “Xander, may I ask you for a favor?”
“Go ahead,” he said immediately. “If it’s within my power, I’ll do it for you.”
“Before Luna and Grant’s wedding,” Oriana said softly, “could you pretend you don’t know about this yet?”
Both Xander and Noah exchanged a look of surprise, a trace of helplessness flickering in their
eyes.
Noah frowned, clearly disapproving. “Oriana, I know you’re kindhearted, but people who do wrong deserve to face the consequences.”
Xander nodded in agreement, his voice patient but firm. “Oriana, if you keep letting things slide, they’ll only push further.”
They both assumed Oriana was trying to avoid an ugly confrontation with the Sterling family.
But Oriana simply lifted her lashes and smiled faintly. “You’re mistaken. I’m not trying to forgive Luna on behalf of my parents.”
Noah and Xander looked at each other, puzzled. “Then what are you planning?”

Oriana’s eyes gleamed with quiet resolve. “Since Luna’s gone to such lengths to make people believe she’s close to you, Xander and used that to help the Sterling family and Grant–then naturally, the Sterling family and Grant see her as someone powerful.
“That’s also why Grant proposed so publicly and brought Luna to the summit today to introduce her to everyone. Clearly, they’re banking on Xander’s name.”
Noah looked disgusted, spitting out his words. “They’ve got no shame at all.”
Oriana’s voice stayed calm, deliberate. “Exactly. So why not grant them their wish–and let them become a perfectly matched pair of partners in crime?”
