A moment later, the door to the workroom opposite the corner where the two had been talking opened a crack, revealing half of Jonathan’s face.
She just knew it – being able to transmigrate into this book was proof she was the heaven- favored heroine of destiny!
See? Even when the plot veered off course, a little golden opportunity always found its way to
her.
Who would have thought Micah was pulling strings like this behind the scenes?
How ruthless
using Henley as a pawn, then discarding him without a second thought. No wonder he could cold–bloodedly take down Grant and Luna in the end.
Good thing she hadn’t set her sights on him anymore. A blackened supporting male lead who’s dead set on only one woman like Oriana? Crossing him could mean not even knowing how she died.
She had been wondering how to find a reason to approach Grant.
A gleam flashed in Jonathan’s eyes – a plan was already forming.

In Sunrise Village, after the lunch break ended, Oriana’s group arrived at the morning assembly point.
To be honest, everyone had been on the move yesterday, then busy settling into their lodgings. Rest time last night hadn’t been sufficient.
Waking up this morning to a high–intensity work schedule meant the one–hour–plus lunch break wasn’t enough for many to fully recover. Some were bleary–eyed, looking a bit lethargic and sluggish.
Seeing this, Chuck Hill gave a brief pep talk to boost morale. After a short regroup, the team split into three groups to continue patient visits.
That afternoon, Oriana’s team arrived at the home of an elderly man living alone.
The old man’s name was Billy Green. He had lost his son and wife when young, and his daughter and grandchildren lived far away, only returning for the New Year.

Moreover, Billy suffered from severe deafness. Due to his family’s circumstances, ordinary hearing aids no longer met his daily communication needs. So, despite having a monitoring camera and phone, communication with his family was minimal.
Seeing them arrive, Billy welcomed them warmly.
It turned out that besides his deafness, Billy had developed another problem starting two years ago: frozen shoulder.
Chuck was about to ask for details when his phone rang. It turned out a critically ill patient he had previously been responsible for had taken a sudden turn. Another director on duty had taken over and needed a detailed briefing from him.
Holding his phone, Chuck motioned to Lottie Murray and Oriana. “You two examine Billy. I’ll be back in a moment.”
Oriana nodded in acknowledgment.
Lottie, however, put on a bright smile. “Director Hill, don’t worry, please handle your matters. This is my area of expertise–you can leave it to me with confidence!”
Hearing this, Chuck said with a laugh, “Alright, then I’ll leave it to you.” He then hurried outside with his phone.
Once Chuck left, Lottie shot Oriana a glance and spoke first, “Mr. Green, please describe your symptoms.”
Billy nodded. “Two years ago, my left shoulder started acting up. It hurt so much I couldn’t lift my arm or extend it fully. Moving a chair or taking off clothes was agonizing.
“It hurt for half a year, and sticking on medicated plasters didn’t help. Later, doctors like you came and used needles on me. They said it was…”
Lottie answered for him, “Acupuncture.”
“Yes, acupuncture! They did it for over ten days in a row, and it really fixed me.” At this point, Billy grinned broadly, vigorously shaking his left arm.
“Look, this arm is steady as a rock now, strong enough to swing on a playground!”
But his smile faded quickly as he sadly extended his right arm. “It’s just… now the right one is starting with the same problem. Last year, doctors came and used acupuncture too, but they poked me full of holes and it didn’t get better. Can you help me with this?”
Before the words fully landed, Lottie immediately patted her chest with assurance. “Mr. Green,

you just set your mind at ease. Frozen shoulder? It’s a minor ailment, nothing more. The doctor last year just wasn’t skilled enough. This little issue? I can definitely handle it for you.”
Hearing this, Billy beamed with joy. “That’s great!”
Just as Lottie instructed the nurse to prepare the acupuncture needles, Oriana spoke up unexpectedly, “It’s not necessarily frozen shoulder yet. We can’t proceed with acupuncture.”
Lottie’s brows instantly furrowed. She glared at Oriana. “If you want to show off, go somewhere else. I won’t indulge you. Don’t pretend to know what you don’t and give misguided orders.”
In front of so many people, Lottie didn’t spare Oriana any face. In her view, she was the expert in this area. How long had Oriana even been practicing? And now she wanted to steal the spotlight?
