“And you still refuse to repent, compounding one mistake with another, all because of jealousy–jealousy that Dr. Sterling is more outstanding than you!
“All these years, I must have been truly blind, to have misjudged you so completely!”
Audrey coldly shook Lottic off once more. After taking several deep, steadying breaths, she faced Oriana with profound shame.
“Dr. Sterling, you do not need to forgive anyone. My carlier offer of a favor still stands. This time… it is I who failed as a mentor!”
Having said this, Audrey, utterly exhausted, requested leave from Chuck and left the room.
No matter how desperately Lottie screamed after her, she did not look back, her resolve absolute.
Someone who had deceived her again and again was no longer worthy of trust!
Seeing that Audrey had completely given up on her, Lottie crumpled to the floor, her face etched with desolation.
Tilting her head back slightly, the tears rolled down from the corners of her swollen eyes.
She turned her dazed gaze toward Oriana. “If I begged you… would you forgive me?”
Oriana gave a frank answer. “Lottie, everyone must be held accountable for their own mistakes.”
Lottie’s tears flowed even more freely. “Fine!”
Kieran gave a signal. The bodyguards escorted Lottie–now hollow–eyed–and Hank, still moaning in pain, downstairs.
Finally, that absurd scene was over.
Micah stepped forward and gently wrapped an arm around Oriana’s shoulders. “Let’s go back.”
Oriana rubbed her temples, then suddenly remembered his condition. She caught his arm. “You must be exhausted. I’ll help you rest.”
“Just a bit,” Micah admitted.
Oriana tensed. “Then let’s get inside quickly. I’m sorry–I forgot you’re still recovering.”

“It’s alright.”
Kai stumbled forward, eyes red with regret. “Oriana-
“Watch out!”
Micah’s foot caught on something, and he stumbled forward.
That shout drowned out Kai’s voice.

Kieran smoothly stepped in, blocking Kai’s path. Kai’s eyes burned with frustration, but he could only watch as Oriana helped Micah into the RV.
Kieran checked his calendar, then glanced at Kai’s agent, Lillian, offering a polite reminder. “Kai still has several engagements scheduled. You should probably get going soon.”
The Caldwell Group had just invested heavily in Kai, lining up a series of events to push him as the nation’s next top male star–all framed as building the country’s leading “traffic icon.”
Kai clenched his fists, forcing out each word through gritted teeth. “I’m not leaving. The shoot in Sunrise Village isn’t finished.”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Sullivan. The Caldwell Group’s poverty–relief fund has already approved two hundred million for Sunrise Village,” Kieran said with a smile. “Even without the PSA, the village is set for the next decade.”
“You–You’re nothing but bullies! Micah just can’t stand me working with Oriana! Who is he to control her freedom to choose friends?!”
Kieran replied calmly, “Mr. Sullivan, Mr. Caldwell doesn’t restrict Mrs. Caldwell in any way. If she wants something–even the stars or the moon–he’ll make it happen.”
He paused, adjusted his gold–rimmed glasses, and his tone turned unreadable.
“You’ve caused Mrs. Caldwell quite a bit of trouble, Mr. Sullivan. You should be grateful that Mr. and Mrs. Caldwell are magnanimous enough to let it go.”
Lillian rushed over and held Kai back, whispering urgently, “Kieran’s right. Dr. Sterling got caught in the crossfire this time. If you really care about her, back off now.”
Kai’s eyes darkened to a deep red.
In the end, his anger burned out. He stood there hollow, bleak, like a puppet with its strings cut, and let Lillian lead him away.
Watching them leave, Kieran finally let out a sigh of relief.

He’d been worried Kai would pick a fight. If he had…
Micah wouldn’t have been so forgiving.

Lottie and the others were quickly arrested by the police on charges of assault, defamation, and fabricating and intentionally spreading false terrorist information. They were taken from Sunrise Village back to Jindiwood for investigation and interrogation.
Kai’s team also packed up their belongings and left Sunrise Village that same day.
After the morning’s turmoil, the volunteer team resumed their free clinic in the afternoon.
The peaceful little village returned to its usual calm.
Oriana spent the whole day accompanying Micah as he rested in the camper van.
After a nap, she woke to find Kieran setting up a fondue spread.
Micah said, “Thought you might not have had enough last time, so we prepared more.”
He was clearly referring to the meal she’d shared with Kai and the others earlier.
Oriana stuck out her tongue, linked her arm through his, and laughed–half amused, half touched. “Feeling jealous again, Mr. Caldwell?”
Micah squeezed her hand and answered earnestly, “Yes, I enjoy it. Quite fond of it, actually- though not necessarily too much of it.”
“Pfft!”
Oriana was so delighted she could barely stand up straight. That night, she enjoyed the meal with Micah, and afterward, the two of them snuggled up together to watch a movie. The sky was filled with countless stars, and as they leaned against each other, time seemed to stand still in perfect peace.
