The constant jokes about Kenny had already set them back most of the morning, and laughter kept interrupting even the coffee roasting process.
Zara was especially ruthless. While the plantation guide was demonstrating the roasting, she even piped up, “Can you roast these ornamental berries too? They’re so… memorable. Making them into a souvenir wouldn’t hurt, right?”
Kenny roared, shaking his fist, “Zaraaaaaaaa!”

In Borian House of Jindiwood, the clock pointed to nine. On the plush leather sofa, Luna held her phone, dialing Grant’s number for what felt like the hundredth time. The line remained unreachable. She dialed again and again, patiently waiting for it to disconnect before immediately redialing.
This cycle repeated until the system blocked her number for excessive attempts.
Ella watched her nervously. “Madam, Mr. Holloway might have been very tired last night and is still sleeping… Perhaps I should accompany you to your prenatal checkup today…”
“No. He promised me two days ago he would come with me.”
Luna still refused to give up. Unable to reach Grant, she called Alaric instead.
After several attempts, Alaric finally hesitantly answered.
“Ahem… Luna?”
Luna cut straight to the point. “Where is Grant? It’s time for my prenatal appointment.”
“Grant? He’s…”
Alaric instinctively glanced toward the closed door of the private lounge. Just half an hour ago, Grant had arrived at the company intending to hold a meeting, but after having Jonathan bring in a cup of coffee, he abruptly canceled it.
Alaric truly hadn’t expected Jonathan, who seemed so delicate, to be so… proactive.
“Grant is in a morning meeting. There’s an urgent bug with the OHM robots. Only core technical staff have access right now. No outsiders allowed.”

Alaric thought for a few seconds. “Perhaps you could wait? Or maybe let Ella accompany you?”
Luna sounded suspicious. “Really? You’re not lying to me?”
“Ah, how can you think that of Grant? Even if you don’t trust me, you should trust him!” Alaric protested.
However, Luna wasn’t Oriana. In the past, when she and Grant hid away in hotels, Alaric covering for them was a trick she knew all too well. There was no way Luna would believe him.
But she hadn’t waited so long and done all this just to force Grant to accompany her.
She needed to confirm that Grant would definitely not show up.
Now, she had saved herself a lot of trouble.
A flash of something dark crossed her eyes as she spoke slowly, “Alright… I did want him to be there. It’s the first time we might see the baby… Since Grant is busy, I understand. But you must tell him about this later. He owes me an explanation.”
No matter how ugly things were between them in private, appearances were everything to Luna. She had to pretend–no, proclaim–that she and Grant were perfectly reconciled.
Alaric quickly agreed, and only then did Luna hang up.
Ella, thinking Luna had come around, hurried forward with a flattering smile. “Madam, you’re not waiting for Mr. Holloway? Let me gather your things, I’ll go with you-”
“No need.”
Luna rose gracefully. “I’ll go alone. You stay here and prepare lunch.”
“I can prepare it when we return. How can you go to the hospital alone?”
“It’s fine. I’m a doctor. The hospital staff are my colleagues; they’ll take care of me. Having you there might actually complicate things.”
Not letting Ella finish, Luna continued, “Prepare a few extra dishes. Abalone, sea cucumber… make them properly. We have guests for lunch.”
With that, she picked up her purse, put on her sunglasses and mask, and left.
The earlier scandal had been overshadowed by newer revelations, and no one was staking out the residential area anymore, allowing Luna to come and go freely.
