Having heard a bit of their argument earlier, Oriana had pieced together what happened. She couldn’t help but murmur, “Actually, he was just worried about you. He just didn’t express it well.”
“Hmph! Who needs that kind of worry? I’m lucky he didn’t give me a heart attack.”
With that, Zara looked up at Oriana, seeking validation. “Oriana, tell me, if Micah acted like that–forbidding you from doing this or that under the banner of ‘it’s for your own good- what would you do?”
Oriana grew thoughtful, considering it seriously for a moment. “I’d assess the situation, depending on what it was about.”
“What if it was something you really didn’t want, something disrespectful to you?”
“Then… I’d probably get angry too, just like you.”
“Hmph! That’s how it should be!”
On the other side, Kenny and Micah remained at the entrance plaza.
Still fuming, Kenny paced back and forth like a top now that the women had left, complaining incessantly to Micah. “Micah, how could you side with her just now? She was the one who wouldn’t listen to reason!”
Micah, who had been forcibly separated from his wife and her comforting presence, wasn’t in a great mood either. He pursed his lips. “You’re a grown man. Why bother nitpicking so much?”
“Me? Nitpicking? Bro, how can you say that?” Kenny retorted, unconvinced. “If it were Oriana acting like that, could you just stand by and let her do whatever?”
Micah replied calmly, “That wouldn’t happen. My wife has more sense than yours.”
Micah, did you have to hit where it hurts?
Kenny gritted his teeth, closed his eyes, and decided to be unreasonable. “Forget about sense. I’m asking you, if you were clearly doing something for her own good and she insisted on defying you, what would you do?”
Kenny’s question struck at the core.

Micah’s expression faltered slightly. He then lowered his gaze and bowed his head.

Seeing his expression, Kenny snorted with a hint of triumph, crossing his arms. “Well? Even you can’t answer, can you!”
“No, I have an answer,” Micah suddenly said quietly.
“What is it?”
“I would… let her have her way, regardless of the consequences.”
Oriana sat with Zara for a while, managing to calm her down, and the two rejoined the group.
However, Zara refused to even glance at Kenny now, and he reciprocated. Both were rigidly adhering to the harsh words they’d exchanged earlier.
Zara walked on Oriana’s side, Kenny walked on Micah’s side, the two of them seemingly wishing to be separated by the ends of the earth.
Watching the stubborn pair, Oriana felt a headache coming on. She leaned her forehead lightly against Micah and whispered, “Are they giving each other the silent treatment now?”
Micah gave a slight nod. “Seems so.”
“Can we help?”
“At the moment, no,” Micah said. “Only they can figure out their own relationship.”
Oriana felt troubled.
Fortunately, the sour mood didn’t dampen Zara’s enthusiasm for the park. She was quickly distracted by all sorts of cute animals.
Getting off the shuttle, their first stop was the rhino family exhibit, where you could get and take photos. Zara completely ignored Kenny, shoving her phone into Oriana’s hands. “Oriana, take my picture.”

Oriana glanced at Kenny. His face was as dark as a thundercloud, but he just glared without saying a word. She shook her head helplessly and took Zara’s photo.
The pattern repeated for the next attractions. There were raccoons, red pandas, monkeys, capybaras, gibbons, and more–all allowing close interaction, feeding, and photos. Zara, dragging Oriana along, laughed until her eyes crinkled into slits, while Kenny fidgeted and paced behind them more energetically than the monkeys on display.

Yet, bound by his own harsh words, he couldn’t utter a single syllable of protest.
