Zara shrank her neck, preparing to explain herself. “Noah, actually-”

“Zara, you’ve been out all afternoon. You should head upstairs and rest first.”

Noah paused, then shifted his gaze toward Kenny

“Kenny, you’re staying.”

Zara hurriedly made to leave. “Okay, Noah, I’ll head inside first!”

Kenny scratched his head, torn. “I wanted to, but she wouldn’t let us come. And if I didn’t stay with my wife and followed her instead, you’d be mad at me too, wouldn’t you?”
