My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart (Oriana) novel Chapter 69

**TITLE: He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen 69**
**Chapter 69: Truth Revealed**

Luna’s expression twisted into a mask of sheer panic as she recoiled, instinctively contorting her body to escape the grasp of the flowers. Yet, Oriana was unyielding, her grip on the oleanders so tight that it felt as though they were locked in a deadly embrace. The vibrant petals brushed against Luna’s skin, sending chills of dread coursing through her.

“They’re poisonous! Poisonous! Oriana, if you want to die, please don’t drag me down with you!” Luna’s voice trembled, each word laced with desperation.

“Oh? But didn’t you just say they weren’t poisonous?” Oriana’s voice dripped with mockery, her cold gaze piercing through Luna’s feeble attempts to escape.

“How could they possibly not be poisonous? Just a small amount can cause a severe reaction that could kill you!” In the throes of her terror, Luna’s panic spilled over, revealing the truth she had tried to hide.

A ripple of understanding swept through the small crowd that had gathered, their murmurs growing louder. Luna froze, caught in the moment, her heart racing as she met Oriana’s icy, mocking stare. A shudder ran through her, and before she could gather her wits, her eyes rolled back, and she collapsed into unconsciousness.

Fortunately, an affiliated hospital was nearby, conveniently located next to the Medical College. Both Luna, now out cold, and the spirited Noah were whisked away for examination.

“He is fine, just experiencing slightly elevated blood pressure. He should take it easy for a while,” the doctor announced, his tone reassuring.

Relief washed over Oriana like a gentle wave, a huge sigh escaping her lips. She had been a bundle of nerves, her eyes rimmed with red from worry as she awaited the results. Noah had faced enough struggles in his life; the thought of anything happening to him because of her actions was unbearable. Thank goodness he was alright…

“Hehe, see? I told you my old bones are tougher than they look! I even survived rat poison when I was a young lad! A little pollen is nothing to me!” Noah boasted, a glimmer of pride in his eyes.

He had been fully aware that Luna was setting a trap for him, intent on framing him and causing harm to Oriana. What he hadn’t anticipated was that the flowers themselves would be the poisonous element. Thankfully, his caution had spared him from her devious scheme!

However, the doctor’s demeanor shifted to one of seriousness. “Sir, oleanders are highly toxic; their leaves, stems, roots, and even pollen contain dangerous substances. Mild exposure can induce vomiting, while severe exposure can be life-threatening. You must steer clear of them in the future and never handle them again.”

Noah’s heart sank at the doctor’s words, and without a moment’s hesitation, he pulled Oriana closer. “Wow, doctor, you need to check my… no, check Oriana quickly! She touched those flowers a lot just now!” His voice was laced with urgency.

“Oriana, I’m fine…” she protested, attempting to brush off his concern.

“Fine? You foolish girl! I may be an old fool, but you knew those flowers were poisonous! Why did you grab them and wrestle with that wicked woman? She’s not worth it! But if anything happened to you, what would I do?” Noah’s voice quivered with unspoken fear, nearly letting slip the fact that she was like a granddaughter to him.

Oriana’s eyes were still slightly red, but her gaze met Noah’s with unwavering clarity. “This happened because of me. Luna targeted you. I couldn’t stand by and let her get away with it.”

“Ah, Oriana. I’m just a stinky old man who collects scrap. I’m not worth you risking yourself like this…” Noah’s voice softened, a hint of regret coloring his words.

“Everyone is equal, Noah. You have shown me such kindness and warmth. How could I betray the affection you’ve given me?” Oriana’s voice was steady, each word a testament to her loyalty.

“You’re too good to me, better than my own grandson!” Noah felt a warmth blossom in his chest, and moisture gathered in his eyes, a mix of gratitude and regret.

Gentle and considerate? Those words to describe his grandson felt so foreign.

And also…

“But he has glasses, doesn’t he?” Noah inquired, seeking clarity.

“How do you know he usually wears glasses?” Oriana asked, her surprise evident. “That pair is probably just for decoration, though.”

Decoration?

Noah was left even more puzzled.

Micah did have a visual impairment—he struggled with bright light and daylight—but with his special glasses, he could see perfectly in darkness. It shouldn’t be that much of an inconvenience.

As they stepped out of the examination room, a heart-wrenching sound reached their ears. They turned to find Luna in a temporary bed in the corridor, receiving an IV drip, surrounded by concerned friends.

“Waaah… my face! Is my face going to be scarred? Ugh…” her cries echoed in the air, a stark reminder of the chaos that had unfolded.
