My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart (Oriana) novel Chapter 71

**TITLE: He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen**
**Chapter 71: A Price to Pay**

Lamma felt a chill run down her spine, a cold sweat breaking out across her forehead. Panic surged through her; she couldn’t allow the school to dig into this matter!

With trembling hands, she reached for Leo’s sleeve, her eyes wide and pleading. “Leo, please listen to me. Oriana is right. This is my fault. I take full responsibility. Mr. Caldwell is an elderly man who has already endured so much. One hundred thousand… I should shoulder that cost.”

“Luna!”

Oriana, with a determined look, snatched Noah’s phone and swiftly navigated to the account.

Lamma’s stomach churned with anxiety, but she forced a weak smile as she initiated the transfer of funds. Each second felt like an eternity, her heart racing as she watched the numbers change on the screen.

Once the transaction was complete, Oriana wasted no time. She turned to Noah, who was still recovering from the recent shock, and ushered him out of the hospital, her voice filled with concern. “Noah, please take care of yourself. If you feel even a little unwell, don’t hesitate to call me or come back here immediately!”

Noah’s face lit up with a radiant smile, his eyes glistening with gratitude. “I promise, Oriana! I’ll listen to you!” He felt a warmth in his heart, a stark contrast to the frustration he often felt with his grandson. Oriana’s kindness wrapped around him like a comforting blanket, far removed from the stubbornness of that infuriating boy.

How could he not repay her kindness? She deserved something special in return for all her care.

After seeing Noah safely out, Oriana headed back to campus, where she found Lily waiting for her.

Lily had been through a grueling day, managing the classes alone in Oriana’s absence, and she looked utterly exhausted.

Feeling a pang of guilt, Oriana quickly apologized. “I’m so sorry for leaving you to handle everything by yourself, Lily.”

“Oh, it’s really nothing, just half a day,” Lily replied, waving her hand dismissively. “You should go home and rest. You need to recover before jumping back into classes.”

“Thank you, Lily,” Oriana said sincerely. Then, a thought struck her. “By the way, do you know what an MDT is?”

Lily brightened at the question. “Oh, the Multi-Disciplinary Team! It’s a collaborative approach to treating cancer. This year, Mr. Flint is heading the gastric cancer MDT team. Students have the opportunity to apply to observe and gain invaluable experience.” She noticed the spark of interest igniting in Oriana’s eyes. “Are you thinking of applying?”

“Yes!” Oriana replied without a moment’s hesitation, her determination shining through.

“I’ll get you an application form later. Just fill it out and submit it,” Lily said, her tone turning gentle. “But just a heads up, the reviewers are from Cormac’s team. There’s no guarantee they’ll approve your application.”

“I’ll give it my all!” Oriana declared, her resolve unwavering.

“Okay,” Lily nodded, impressed by Oriana’s enthusiasm.

As Oriana left campus and climbed into the car, Kieran immediately noticed the bandage wrapped around her hand, his instincts kicking into high gear.

“Mrs. Caldwell, you’re hurt? I need to take you to the hospital—”

“I’ve already been, Kieran. It’s just a minor issue. I’ll be fine in a few days,” she reassured him, trying to quell his concern.

Oriana was rendered speechless, her mind racing. “Isn’t this… a bit over the top?”

Micah rubbed his temples, a hint of exasperation creeping into his voice. “It’s just how he is. He’s wealthy and does what he wants.” His grandfather’s unpredictable whims often led to such unexpected displays of extravagance, and this was no exception.

Suddenly, Micah’s expression shifted. His brow furrowed as he caught a whiff of something amiss. “You’re hurt.”

Instinctively, Oriana concealed her injured hand behind her back. Before she could think of a plausible excuse, Chubby flapped its wings and piped up, “Papa! Oriana’s hand has a bandage!”

Oriana shot the bird an exasperated glare. A talking pet was hardly charming in this moment.

Chubby, sensing the tension, covered its screen, where teardrop emojis appeared, and rolled away, making sad gurgling sounds.

Micah’s demeanor shifted from relaxed to serious in an instant.

“Kieran.”

“This has nothing to do with Kieran!” Oriana interjected quickly. “I accidentally brushed against some oleander at school, had a mild reaction, went to the hospital, got some ointment. It’s nothing serious; it’ll be fine in a few days.” She hastily tried to redirect the conversation. “But with all these gifts from your grandfather, shouldn’t I send him something in return? I haven’t formally visited him yet. Wouldn’t that be rude?”

Micah saw through her attempt to change the subject, his tone deepening. “It’s alright. I’ve already spoken to him. We’ll take you to see him when the time is right. He doesn’t concern himself with formalities.” He turned to Kieran. “As for all this, have the staff return and clear out my dressing room to make space.”

“And what about your clothes?” Oriana asked, her voice tinged with concern.
