Chapter 119
Hannah’s POV
“Daddy, I cannot do this anymore,” I wailed, tears running down my cheeks. “Everyone is saying that I’m useless. That Chloe is making money and I can’t.”
I ran forward and grabbed Dad’s art, holding onto it with a tight grip. “They keep comparing me and that bra. I hate it, Daddy. I hate it.”
Dad pinched the bridge of his nose, forcing himself to breathe deeply. That was when Sophia came down the stairs, freshly washed, dressed in her cleaning clothes.
She planned to move past us and take the cleaning supplies to start her chores but Dad caught her. He rushed forward and grabbed her arm.
“What did Chloe say? Did she give you the money?”
Sophia trembled from head to toe and then, she had the audacity to turn to me as if asking for help. “I…”
“You should have seen her, Daddy,” I said. “Chloe threw her out. She was so pathetic.”
Sophia wrung her fingers together and laughed nervously…
“David, please give me more time to talk to Chloe. Her anger is still fresh so she is not listening to anyone, not even Axel. It’s just her being a teenager and thinking she knows better because she has a little money.”
Dad actually nodded, believing her nonsense.
No way. I was so angry and I needed a way to vent. If I could not get to Chloe directly, I would get to her mother. It was all the same, right?
My eyes watered and then I let out a small gasp. “Or maybe she is on Chloe’s side so she is pretending. She is Chloe’s real mom. Why would she give me money?”
I burst into a new round of tears, covering my face. “I wish I had a mom, She will not hide any money from me. My real mom would love me.”
Whenever I brought up my real mom, Dad would fold. I did not even care for whoever the bitch was but she was useful in playing my father like a fiddle.
Dad’s face hardened and he turned to Sophia with a burning glare. “That is what you are doing, is it not? You want to protect your biological daughter?”
Before she could say anything, he grabbed her tight by her hair and slapped her so hard that the sound echoed off the walls. My tears dried up instantly and I smiled.
She caught my smile and her eyes widened slightly but she could not say a word and stayed there silently, taking all of my father’s slaps one after the other.
Maybe next time, she will learn to convince her daughter to hand over the money that should belong to me.
By the time Dad was done with her, Sophia was a broken mess on the floor and for the first time in a very long time, she looked up at him, straight in the eyes.
“You can hit me as much as you want, David,” she said softly, her face devoid of tears.
That blank look in her eyes unnerved me. It reminded me too much of her bitch of a daughter. Right now, Sophia

looked like she was not feeling any pain at all from all the hitting.
won’t say anything because you are mad. Chloe did something foolish today,” she continued, wheezing through the pain.
Her wolf had become dull over the years so it was truly difficult for her to heal so many wounds. Usually, it was part of the thrill to see her struggle. Now, it made me feel sick to look at her.
“No matter what you do to me, it does not change the fact that Chloe refused to give me a penny.” Her eyes started to water. “She slapped me and kicked me out of her bedroom and told me never to come to ask her for anything again.”
Dad paused, his shoulders tense with anger but he did not move, staring down at Sophia talking with something close to hate but not quite at the same time.
Her tears continued to roll down her cheeks.
“I am truly sorry. I know you want the money but I really cannot do anything. The terms of Chloe’s legal emancipation included me as well. I have no hold over her even if she is my biological daughter. I’m so sorry.”
Dad scoffed once and turned into the bedroom, stomping away.
Why did he have to soften up now? I was still upset.
I kicked Sophia once and turned out of the house, stomping towards the pack house. At the entrance, Chloe was on the porch swing, phone in hand as she spoke on her call.
“Yes, Luna. I should be seeing Sandra soon. I hope she finds her mate.”
