My Stepsister Returned To Rewrite Fate But I Became Luna (Chloe) novel Chapter 121

Chapter 121

Hannah’s POV

A broken cry slipped from my lips as my wrist twisted out of place.

Axel was by my side in an instant, lifting me into his arms. “Goddess,” he breathed out, his fingers brushing my wrist. “You dislocated this. One of you, go call the physician!”

“I…” Hannah shuffled backwards on the ground. “I did not touch her, I swear-”

“And you want to tell me that fell by herself?!” Axel snapped. “You are a wolf who never trains! Of course, you do not know your own strength!”

Hannah sucked in a sharp breath at Axel’s words, her hands lifting to her ears as she tried to figure out if she had actually caused my injury.

I stayed quiet, trying to breathe through the pain. My wolf was locked in the back of my mind, whining so that she would be able to heal me but I suppressed her.

This injury needed to last long enough until the doctors got here.

A few minutes later, one of the older doctors rushed into the dining room. The moment he saw my injury, his eyes widened and he immediately got to his knees.

“Luna,” he said and I looked up to see him moving his finger back and forth in front of my face. “Are you dizzy?”

I shook my head and he used that momentary distraction to snap my joints back into place. My spine stiffened as the pain flooded my entire body.

The grip of my other hand tightened on Axel’s thigh but he did not utter a word of complaint.

Now, I was starting to regret this plan. Why did I have to endure this pain so that Hannah would be knocked down a peg?

The doctor started to soothe the wrist, rattling off a list of precautions I would have to take until the wound healed. Axel and I thanked him before he left the dining room.

The whole time this was happening, the entire people in the dining room remained frozen in their places, waiting for the drama to ensue.

“Come on, sit,” Axel said and lifted me into my seat like it was my legs that had issues. Then, he turned to Hannah. “I recall giving you a warning not to put your hands on my mate ever again.”

His voice was cold, deadly like he was holding a knife right to her neck.

Hannah gulped. “I did not mean to…I did not push her. She-”

“And why on Earth would I believe you? Do you think everyone is as blind as your mate here?” Then, Axel chuckled. “Then again, Jax has not come to your rescue so he knows the truth.”

That was when Hannah realized that Jax had been standing in the doorway of the dining room, just staring at her. When he noticed her gaze, he walked reluctantly into the dining room and lifted her up.

“Hannah,” he said softly. “Why don’t I take you out for lunch? You know that Italian place you wanted to try?”

Hannah shoved him away. “Jax, you…you believe that this is my fault too? I am your mate!”

Jax’s smile remained plastered on his face but I knew that look in his eyes. That one that said that he wanted to

der her for repeatedly ’embarrassing’ him.

I could not count the number of times I had seen that look directed towards me. And for ten years, right until the moment I was dying, I believed that every single time, it was my fault.

Now, it was Hannah’s turn to go through that. However, to her benefit, Hannah was a lot more stubborn than me and would never admit that she was in the wrong.

The two of them, in a way, were a perfect match. Master manipulators.

It was now only a matter of time to see who will manipulate one more than the other. I knew Jax and I knew Hannah so I knew who would eventually come out on top.

When Hannah was fully suckered into his act and Jax started to cheat, all of her aspirations would come crashing down and she would be reduced to a shell of her former self.

I did not even think I would feel so much satisfaction from watching this happen. After all, it was a life that she chose for herself. No one forced her to give up perfectly fine Axel for the pretty bowl of worms that Jax was. Hannah sent me a final gaze and then, looked between Axel and me. And then, she nodded at Jax.
