Chloe’s POV

I woke up to the feeling of movement, like I was being swayed back and forth. I blinked slowly, trying to sit up but the arms around me tightened.

“Careful, you’ll fall,” Axel said and the haze of sleep in my eyes cleared.

He was carrying me in his arms as we walked through the air and everyone was staring. Everyone.

It was not everyday the average person got to see a man who looked like he had wandered off a runway carrying a girl like she was precious cargo.

“Did you sleep well? I did not want to wake you,” he said, adjusting me in his arms. The angle he moved me would have made me fall if I did not hook my arms around his neck.

He turned away from me to Viktor who had somehow gotten here. I did not realize that he would be coming in the

car with us.

“Get Chloe something to eat.” He looked down at me. “You did not eat dinner or breakfast. You must be starving.

Would there not be food on the plane? I wanted to say this but decided against it, letting him do what he wanted.

“Is there anything you want to eat… I guess that would work,” Axel said when Viktor produced a slice of cake for me. My eyes lit up and I kicked for Axel to let me down.

He set me down on my feet and I grabbed the cake from Viktor.

“With all of that sugar you stuff into a face, one of these days, you might turn into a pig,” Hannah commented behind me.

Axel flared up and was about to rip into her but there was no reason for him to involve himself in a petty argument like this.

“Thank you. The world will know my mate feeds me well,” I said, looking down at her stomach. “I guess, in your case, you will grow bigger whether or not you want to.”

Her hands clenched together but she kept a smile plastered on her face, conscious of the fact that we were in public.

“Chloe, I am just saying it for your good. Extra weight does not look good on a woman. People will start to think you have let yourself go.”

I turned to Axel with a childish pout. “Axel, do you think I look fat? Hannah says you won’t love me anymore if I am fat.”

Axel pulled me into his side and shot Hannah a glare over my head. “What does she know? Or perhaps, her mate is just that petty. Is that the case, brother? You would dump your mate just because she added a few extra healthy pounds?”

Hold on. When did Axel learn to throw jabs like that at Jax and Hannah?

There was no need to concern myself with the latter because I did not think of Axel to be so classless as to cheat on me with an air hostess.

But I had such an emotional attachment to the seat that I did not think I would be able to sit anywhere else comfortably. “Let’s stay here,” I said and dropped down in the seat.

Axel nodded and sat down opposite me in the seat facing the back of the plane.

Hearing Jax’s voice behind me, I flinched. I instantly composed myself before turning around.
