My Stepsister Returned To Rewrite Fate But I Became Luna (Chloe) novel Chapter 128

Chapter 128

Chloe’s POV

Suddenly, Luna Silvia’s eyes narrowed. “What the hell does that slut think she is doing?”

I turned to see who she was talking about and my lips parted in surprise.

We could not hear Hannah from that distance because of how low slie was speaking but even a child would be able to tell how hard Hannah was flirting with Darius.

I blinked repeatedly, looking for what to say but not finding the words. Was this the time to apologize? Would my words even mean anything?

Again, what was Hannah trying to do?

I turned to find Jax, only to spot him slinking away to the back of the private jet, like he wanted no association

with his mate.

At least, he was not the one who sent her to flirt. I had received an instruction or two like that from him back when we were married.

Riven finally broke from her conversation with Sandra and tuned into what Hannah was saying. Her face went through multiple emotions: confusion, shock, disbelief and then pure anger.

Her claws were out in a second but before she could move, Darius jutted out his index finger and used the force to push Hannah away from him.

Then loudly, he said, “You can speak to me from that distance. I have a beloved and do not want anyone getting any funny thoughts.”

Hannah let out a small gasp, not in remorse or anything but because she could not believe that her plan to cozy up to him had actually not worked.

I could not help the smile that slipped onto my lips and my eyes started to water again. Every now and then, I would see a good example of good men who were willing to be faithful to their wives.

It reassured me that really, not all of them were scum.

I turned back to Luna Silvia. “We can trust your son not to do anything foolish.”

“Of course, I trust my son and I trust Riven to keep him in line.” Her eyes darkened as she watched Hannah go around the bend Jax went to. “I do not trust that little vixen. Who knows how many men she does this with?”

I shrugged, not certain that Hannah was really cheating on Jax. I knew that she was being very sexually satisfied which was the reason she cited for cheating on Axel in our past life.

Besides, if evidence came out that she was cheating on Jax and was pregnant, whether the baby was Jax’s or otherwise, her life in Everton was practically over.

It is one thing to cheat and it is another to carry a bastard child to try and pass it off on the Alpha family.

“She is pregnant now,” I said to Luna Silvia. “If she was cheating, she would terminate it. She would not let anything or anyone jeopardize her chances of being Luna.”

When I said that, Luna’s brows furrowed. “Does that not mean you are in danger…hold on, she was promised to Axel. Why did she not marry him if she is so bent on being Luna?”

I could not tell Luna Silvia that in my past life, Axel died after a few years and Jax became the Alpha. No matter how much she trusted me, she would think I was crazy.

“I have no idea why she insisted on a switch. I am guessing that she really liked Jax and could not accept me marrying him,” I said casually, my tone dismissive like Hannah was nothing more than an idiot.

Luna was already invested in the story, curiosity and worry mixed in her voice.

“If she wants Jax but she also wants to be Luna. There are two possibilities: she wants Jax and Axel to share her or she wants Axel out of the picture as well.”

I kept Luna Silvia’s gaze, not bothering to reply as we both knew which of the two options it was

With how much nonsense Hannah had pulled over the last few months, even if Axel one day happened to fall in love with her and agree to such a foolish arrangement with his brother, Alpha Paul would rather die than let Hannah get anywhere near the Luna position.

Definitely, Hannah knew this as well so her only choice would be for Axel to be disqualified as she was not foolish enough to actually kill him. Or at least, I hoped so.

Or perhaps, she was just biding her time until the time Axel died in my past life so she and Jax could swoop in like the only options left.

Alpha Paul would have to leave the title to them whether he wanted to or not.

“Since you cut ties with her, you need to approach her like you would approach an enemy,” Luna Silvia warned.” She is someone who would not blink an eyelid before taking your life, if need be.”

I nodded. “I will keep an eye on her.”
