Chapter 146
Axel’s POV
I woke up in the morning, feeling far more relaxed than I had felt in a long time.
It took a few seconds for me to realize the cause. Chloe’s head was my chest, her hair flaring around her
shoulders.
Her chest heaved up and down with deep breaths as she hugged me tightly. My hand slid lower down her body to
her bare waist.
She stirred, letting out a small moan before going back to sleep.
The little sound traveled all the way to my member. At the same time, she happened to move and brush between my legs.
The growl ripped out of my lips before I could help it, my hands tightening into fists on either side of her so she could get a good night’s rest.
While I was still struggling to get my wolf under control, her thigh started to move higher, inching a bit at a time to my groin. So uniformly that it could not possibly have been by accident.
I looked down and saw her blinking up at me, her brown eyes shining with mischief.
“Morning,” she breathed out, lifting herself so she could brush her lips against my ear. “How long have you been up?”
I opened my mouth to respond and then, realized the double-meaning behind her words. When my ears went red, she giggled into the crook of my neck.
She was as adorable as she was beautiful.
My hand slid up and palmed one of her breasts. She moaned softly, her eyes fluttering shut. Her hips seemed to have a mind of their own, gyrating against mine.
Every now and then, she would shudder as her clit brushed me. As much as I wanted to push into her, I stayed still, watching her own her pleasure.
Looking at her like this was enough to drive any warm-blooded man insane.
After a few minutes, she muttered. “Axel, as much as I am glad that you have it in you to be a gentleman while being so hard, I would rather be fucked right now.”
Times like this made me truly doubt if Chloe was how old she said she was. From last night until now, I could not help but feel like she was experienced, completely in control of the situation.
Chloe sat up above me, brushing her hair out of the way. Her eyes raked my body like she was surveying a prized piece of land.
“Much better,” she muttered. Before I could ask what she meant, she angled herself above my rod and slid
down.

“If you two are going to be late every time, you might as well tell us not to bother waiting for you,” Darius said in greeting when Chloe and I finally showed up to breakfast.
Riven scanned me from top to bottom. “Can you let Chloe be so she can have breakfast on time? You kept her back yesterday as well.”
My brow raised. “I kept her back?”
If only they knew that the only reason we had even gotten to breakfast at all was that I wrestled Chloe off of me. Once we got into the bathroom for the shower, it was like a switch had turned off in her head.
I took a step closer to Chloe and she refused all eye contact with me. “Chloe, apparently, I kept you back from breakfast. Did I?”
She clicked her tongue and rolled her eyes. “Childish,” she spat and entered into the dining hall.
I chased after her, catching her as she sat down at our table. There was a small smile playing on her lips as she tried and failed to ignore me.
“What?” she spat, her voice not having any real venom behind it.
I leaned closer and kissed her neck, right where my mark would be soon enough.
She understood the meaning behind my action and bit down on her lower lip.
I checked her eyes, expecting there to be conflict on whether or not she wanted me to mark her but all I saw was
desire.
Blood started rushing to my groin. I wanted to take her back upstairs and-
There was a loud scrape of the chair beside us, so loud that most of the eyes in the dining hall turned to us. Jax dropped down in his chair with dark circles around his eyes, looking half dead.
Hannah stomped into the dining hall a moment later, her eyes blazing and fixed on Jax. Then, her gaze slid to Chloe and to our faces so close together.
Her hands clenched into tight fists and she turned right around, stomping out of the dining hall.
Chloe let out a small snort and covered her mouth with her hand but her eyes shone with so much amusement that it was insulting.
Jax noticed her gaze and his fingers tightened so hard around his fork that the metal bent.
Yet, he forced a smile onto his face. “Chloe, you look lovely today. Is that a new hairstyle?”
My smile vanished. What were his eyes doing on my mate’s body?
Chloe did not skip a beat in replying. She brushed her hair out of her face. “Axel tends to get his hands everywhere when he kisses me. He must have tussled my hair.”
I was not sure why her answer was so satisfying.
Jax looked like he had been forced to swallow a maggot.
