Chapter 171
Chloe’s POV
I returned to my bedroom after ensuring the arrangements and sat in front of my vanity.
I was staring at myself in the mirror, my mind wandering. My finger kept tapping on the table as I tried to map out what my life could look like after tonight.
After bonding with Axel, I could not go back. We were going to go through the rest of our lives together.
There was so much we both still did not know about each other and so much to learn. There was also much of the present and the future that had been changed that I had now lost my advantage.
I also could not shake off the knowledge that Axel had died in my past life.
Hannah and my presence in this timeline with the knowledge we had had changed a lot of things but I was not sure how much had been changed.
The attack on Moonflame still happened but Darius did not go into a coma.
I could not remember this Alpha meet happening in my past life or even if it did happen, I did not go.
Also, the truth about my family was a twist that I could not have expected in this life.
Were all these changes big enough to erase Axel’s death?
He had gotten severely injured in a plane crash and then died in a fire much later while being hospitalized.
Now that I knew Axel, I also knew that he was strong enough to avoid being killed off just like that. His death was definitely man-made.
Hannah maybe? She was stupid enough to kill Axel even if she did not love Him.
Not to mention, she died quickly afterwards, though due to her stupidity and bitterness but it was all the same.
So it was someone else who wanted Axel dead.
For now, I did not know anyone who would hate Axel enough to kill him, especially when Alpha Paul clearly had another heir to take over.
Was there someone that wanted Jax to be Alpha so desperately or something?
My eyes narrowed slightly as I remembered his chief mistress from my past life.
Tamara Blakely.
Even though Jax had multiple women on the side, she was the one that he always returned to.
A few years down the line, after he became Alpha, he proudly brought her into the house as his secretary and continued his relationship with her in our marital bed.
The few times when Jax did sleep with me and I got pregnant, she poisoned me through my meals so I would lose the baby.
It was only on the last poison that I found out it was her but by then, I was already bleeding to death.
I was a bit curious about what happened after I died.

Was she able to enter as Luna? Did the pack accept her and her bastard that she and Jax had outside of our marriage?
Tamara was always an expert manipulator so it was likely that she found a way to cover up my death while making herself look good in front of the pack.
I hoped to never see her again in this life but if I did, I would take out all of my grievances from my past life on her in this one.
“Should I just prevent him from going on planes from now on?” I muttered, thinking about Axel again. “But he needs to travel for work.”
It was one of his work trips that killed him. I remember that it was a plane heading to a country in Eastern Europe.
That should be enough of an indication for me when he decides to leave because he usually never has anything to do outside the continent.
If he does, I would rather him send a delegate than go by himself. I refuse to be made a widow twice in two lifetimes.
I remained in that position until the Lunas came back from their picnic and found me in my bedroom.
“You do not look nervous,” Luna Diane commented as she entered.
I looked at her through the mirror, running my fingers through my hair. “Is there any reason to be? It is a short ceremony.”
Sandra and Riven entered the room, Sandra sitting beside me on my vanity chair. Riven wrapped her arms around my shoulder.
“So…you’re not nervous. Excited maybe?” Riven asked.
I looked up at her. “I guess…it’s a very permanent decision. I kind of don’t know what to feel about it.”
Luna Silvia hummed. “Chloe, sometimes, you sound to me like you have been through a messy romantic relationship.”
“Exactly,” Riven exclaimed as she turned to her mother-in-law. “I thought I was the one who was reading too deeply into it.”
She turned back to me. “Is there some guy you have not told us about?”
I rolled my eyes. “And where do you think I would have gotten the time or freedom to date, much less have a messy relationship?”
Sandra clicked her tongue, her eyes flashing in anger. “Forgot about your monster family…no offense, Luna Everdeen.”
