Chloe’s POV

I remained in the bathroom for a few more minutes until I was sure that her scent had faded.

The entire time, I kept trying to piece together Hannah’s conversation but it did not make sense.

However, some things were clear.

She was blackmailing someone with the lives of their families into helping her with something bad. For now, I had to assume that the ‘her’ that she kept trying to ruin was me or at the very least, someone around me.

If it was not me, the situation could get potentially even more dangerous because I could not protect all the women around me round the clock.

When I walked back into the party, I saw Axel frantically moving around, looking for me.

He sighted me and pulled me into a hug, breathing in my scent like it was his source of life. “I was looking for you,” he muttered.

I held him close as well. “I went to use the bathroom,” I replied, rubbing the worry creases between his brows.

The mate bond really worked wonders. Just a few minutes gone and Axel was reacting like I had told him I wanted a divorce.

My mind strayed back to Hannah’s conversation in the bathroom and my expression changed. Axel noticed immediately. “What is it? Is something wrong?”

I was about to shake my head and then, reminded myself that I did not need to handle this alone.

It would be better to move with him, especially when I was still not sure of what the danger could be.

“I heard something in the bathroom,” I whispered, my hand sliding up his chest.

My mind momentarily blanked as I felt his muscles. Goddess. I had been with this man for some time but I could never get over how sculpted he was.

My hands seemed to have a mind of their own as they slipped under his shirt. “Axel,” I muttered but it came out

as a soft moan.

Axel immediately moved and backed me against the wall. “I remember someone saying to wait until we got to the bedroom.”

“Shut up and kiss me.”

His hand cupped the back of my head and he crashed his lips on mine. My fingers crawled into his hair, pressing him closer to me.

My free hand was still exploring his body. I just could not get enough of him.

Without separating our lips, his hand cupped my ass and lifted me so I could lock my legs around his waist. The angle meshed our groins together and I could not help but let out another moan.

Axel’s hand came down on my butt. “Keep your voice down. You can scream later when we get to the cabin,” he said and then, his lips latched onto his mark on my neck.

My head fell back against the wall and I had to cover my mouth with my hand to muffle my moans.

He was just kissing my neck and the pleasure was traveling all the way to my core. My toes curled.

Reached down to the hem of Axel’s trousers. Before my hand could slip in, he grabbed my wrist, placing it against the wall.

His eyes were dark with desire. “Baby, what kind of man would I be if I took my pleasure before giving you yours?”

My eyes shut involuntarily as I had to hold myself back from crossing over the edge. Even his words were making me so sensitive.

“I need you,” I whispered, trying to think of the quickest way to get both of us off before the guests started hunting for us again.

If we actually had proper sex, we would not stop.

Axel sensed my thoughts and took me further away from the indoor garden where the guests were through a

random door.

Two maids were inside folding laundry. When they saw us, without another word, they rushed out of the bedroom

“Axel, we seriously cannot be bullying innocent women like this…”

My words died in my throat when Axel dropped to his knees and lifted my dress. “Make sure to scream now that we are alone,” he said.

My body slacked against the door as he dove between my legs with the sole purpose of ravishing me.

The Lunas found us an hour later. Axel was helping me readjust my dress after cleaning up when they opened the

door.

“I told you they were having sex,” Riven said, tapping her mother-in-law’s arm.

“We were not having sex,” I retorted, running my fingers through Axel’s hair to pat it down. I hoped I did not give him a bruise from how hard I was pulling.

“Sure thing. Sure thing,” Riven said, clearly not believing me as she walked into the room and dragged Axel and I outside.

“Everyone is looking for you. Tony just brought in the grilled stuff and the good DJ so the party is kicking off again.”

When we returned to the garden, my brows could have risen all the way to my hairline. In the one hour that Axel and I were busy, all of the young people who had attended the ceremony had changed into party clothes.

The older Alphas and Lunas had moved to another location or simply gone back to rest.

Tony was on the DJ stand, blasting human club music and everyone was jumping and gyrating on each other.
