Chapter 31
Chloe’s POV
Their response had been swift. Perhaps a little overly enthusiastic.
They wanted to meet the very next day, providing a time and a location. I hurriedly dressed up that morning and was rushing out when I ran into Axel.
He scanned me from head to toe. “Where are you going?”
I was about to reply when female perfume wafted into my nostrils. Not thick enough to show that he had slept with her or something but she had been all over him that he was coated in it.
I turned my back to him as I slipped on my shoes. “I have an appointment at nine. I should be back around lunch time.”
“What kind of appointment?” Axel pressed.
Irritation flared up inside me and I straightened. “You do not see me questioning you every move like you
are a criminal.”
Axel stepped closer, his arms crossed. “I am not questioning you. I would just rather know where my Luna is running off to at daybreak, dressed like that.”
“Like what?”
Now, he had a problem with me wearing dresses. He should go ahead and handcuff me to his bed in overalls if he did not want me out of his sight.
He had the audacity to sigh like I was the one being infuriating. “I am not trying to start a fight or something…are you going with Viktor?”
“Do I have a choice?”
“Chloe!”
“What is going on?” a small voice asked from down the hall.
Celestia was wearing a flimsy night gown, holding what looked like a plate of breakfast. I rolled my eyes.
If I had not stayed to have this stupid conversation, I would have been long gone before she even arrived.
“Have fun with your mistress….sorry, childhood friend.” My face darkened as I walked past the couple, stopping only momentarily to grab the bread off the tray that Celestia was holding.
Thankfully, I was not bothered until I got outside.
“Have you told Alpha?” Viktor said as I entered the car.
“if you do not drive, I will walk,” I spat.

He nodded once before getting into the driver’s seat and starting the car. We were halfway through the journey when my phone started to ring.
I checked the ID and ended the call. Hannah called back again and then, shot me a text.
Chloe. Where are you going? How could you leave the pack without permission?
I rolled my eyes, knowing that she was just kicking up dust to make it look like a storm. I knew the entire rules of the pack by heart and there was nowhere that it stated that pack members had to ask for permission before leaving the pack…
Hold on. How did she know I was going out of the pack today?
The only people who should know were Viktor and Axel and I doubted that either of them were talkatives.
So Celestia.
The two women were now working together. Interesting.
Viktor and I were caught in traffic but we managed to arrive just as it was getting to nine am. In the dingy cafe, it was easy to spot the two men that I was coming to meet.
“Will I be coming in with you, Luna?”
