Chloe’s POV

First thing in the morning, Sandra knocked on my door, practically dragging me out of bed.

“What?” I whined, rubbing my sleepy eyes. It was not everyday that I got to sleep in like this and it was being interrupted.

“Axel and Damian are fighting,” she said excitedly. Her words snapped me awake. I ran after her, bursting into the yard as the two men jumped in the air and met in a class.

They were half shifted, teeth and claws stretched. The scent of blood in the air was already thick as they had cut each other several times and healed back over the course of their battle.

“Hey, what the hell do you think you are doing?” I yelled at them.

They seemed too locked in their battle to hear me. I was about to move when Sandra held me. “Let’s wait for Dad to get here. He will be the one to separate them-”

“It would take only a split second before someone dig her claws into someone’s chest!” I shrugged her hand off and ran towards the fighting men.

I was already halfway to them when Luna Silvia yelled my name. “Chloe, they are about to shift. Get away from there!”

I was only a few feet away when fur burst forth from their skin. The sheer power should have knocked me down but I was able to brush it off and push through.

As Darius could leap through the air, I jumped and grabbed his snout. We both knocked to the ground and rolled. He snarled at me but I slapped his snout down. “What the hell do you think you are doing?”

Axel growled behind me. Somehow, I knew that it was because I was touching Darius.

“And you,” I said, turning to him with my anger intensifying even more. “Growl at me again and I will pull out your teeth. What do you think would happen if you seriously injure the future heir of Moonflame. You think both our lives would be able to cover it?”

Axel growled at me, nudging me with his nose to get away from Darius, sending a kick to the wolf who was on the ground for good measure.

Darius snarled at him but his mother was already to step in. She slapped his snout before picking him by

his ear.

He whined, pawing at her to let go but her grip was firm. “Look what you did. You injured Chloe.”

That was when all of us, including me, noticed the long gash on my forearm from my wrist to my elbow. Axel tried to lick it but I moved his snout away, my face scrunching in disgust.

“Don’t you dare put your tongue on my open wound,” I muttered.

Sandra rushed to my side and held my arm. “Chloe, we need to get you to the hospital…how are you doing that?”

The wound was already knitting together as we all watched. I crossed my arms over my chest, hiding the gash as it completely healed.

The rest of them figured that I did not want to talk about it so they did not comment as I led Axel back into the house.

He dusted his feet on the mat like a proper gentleman as he followed me up the stairs.
