My Stepsister Returned To Rewrite Fate But I Became Luna (Chloe) novel Chapter 75

Chapter 75

Chloe’s POV

Somehow, the news spread through the entire Everdeen that Axel wanted to go through a cinema.

In reality, it should not have been that big of a deal but Axel was usually the very stoic heir completely focused on his role as Alpha. So suddenly, his wanting to relax like a normal person was news.

As the gossip heightened so did the eyes watching Celestia and I. I could not count how many times I had entered a room today and the chatter instantly stopped with everyone staring at me like they were expecting me to snap and sink my claws into someone’s neck.

Celestia, on the other hand, was going around with a skip in her steps, muttering under her breath. Probably her rehearsals on how she was going to ask Axel to the movie.

Lunchtime came around and it was finally show time.

As the entire pack filed in for lunch, Axel came down as well unlike his usual behavior to eat lunch in his office. He passed by me in the hallway, about to stop but I waved him away to go to the dining room.

Celestia was waiting at the door of the dining room, pacing back and forth. Axel waited for Tony to catch up to him and they walked in with Tony discussing movie suggestions and the movies that were playing in the cinemas this week.

When Celestia saw him, she paused, her eyes lighting up. All eyes were on them as she rushed to Axel,

smiling widely.

“Axel.” Her gaze flitted to Tony. “Um…about the movie, have you found someone to go with?”

Axel tilted his head. “Tony said movie and lunch afterwards. It has been a while since I ate outside of the

pack.”

“I mean, if it is this weekend, I would love to accompany you. I would be free then.”

Luna Diane had just come down the stairs when Celestia said this. The look on her face was the most expression I had seen on it in a long time. Utter annoyance.

Her gaze flitted to me and her brow raised. I stared blankly at her, not sure what exactly she was going to interpret from this whole thing. Somehow, she understood me and decided to let me handle it.

With a tight jaw, she turned around and went back up the stairs.

“You want to go with Axel to a cinema?” Tony asked and Celestia nodded enthusiastically. “Axel, what do you think?

Axel paused for a moment to think about it. “I don’t know. It is not like I have a better option. Chloe is just so busy these days that she barely has any time for me.”

His words flowed so seamlessly from his lips that even my eyes widened. A low murmur started from

the dining room where all the pack members were tuned in, listening to the drama.

“Are you sure? You have not even asked her out,” Tony said, nudging Axel’s shoulder.

A frown appeared on his lips. “The last time I tried, she told me that she had work and she would go with me another time…what if she has work again?”

If someone heard him, they would think that he was the epitome of a devoted fiance who was trying to win the heart of his girl and was struggling. That was certainly the way it was coming off to the other pack members.

“I knew it. Alpha Axel likes Luna Chloe.”

“But they do not act very loving to each other.”

“That’s because they are both very calm people like Luna Diane. You should have seen him when he was carrying Luna Chloe when Hannah injured her.”

“Oh goddess. Hannah injured her? Aren’t they sisters?”

Celestia was slowly growing confused by the tilt of public opinion in my favour. I smirked, recognizing it as my time to come out of where I was hiding.

I held up my textbook, reading through the lines as I walked from the hallway towards the door of the dining room. The murmurs stopped, everyone waiting for someone to speak.

As I passed by Axel, he caught my hand. “Chloe, hey, I have not seen you since morning.”

“I am pretty sure we spoke this morning.” I looked up from my book. “Did you need me for something?”

He looked nervous, like this date we were about to have was going to be for real. “Um, I wanted to ask if you were free this weekend. I was thinking that we could watch a movie at the cinema-”

I raised a finger to stop him. “I cannot do Saturday. I have a meeting and Sunday is for tea with Luna Diane. How about upper Thursday? I can slot you in for two hours.”

“That’s too short,” Axel said, his brows scrunched.

Why did this start to seem like we were planning an actual date? Nevertheless, I had to play along since

this was my own plan.

I propped my textbook against my thigh. “When and how long do you want?”

“Sunday. 12 to 5,” Axel said instantly and after a moment, added, “I can speak to my mother about moving your tea to Thursday.”
