My Stepsister Returned To Rewrite Fate But I Became Luna (Chloe) novel Chapter 97

Chapter 97

Chloe’s POV

The clan leader’s words resounded in the air, filling the silence. As his anger reduced, it was only then that he noticed the three of us standing in the doorway.

Alpha Paul’s face was completely dark, no doubt replaying the two sentences in his head. Those two sentences, just a moment’s slip-up, had effectively ruined a centuries-long legacy of the Crane family being clan leaders under Everdeen.

Celestia was the first person to let out a ragged gasp as she darted away from Hannah. When we walked in, her feet had been raised about to step on Hannah. Laeticia was at th

My sister, on the other hand, was on the ground, blood dripping down her lips. A triumphant smirk appeared on her face and vanished in the same second and then, she burst into tears.

“I did not know this was what you wanted the information for!” she cried. “I only thought you wanted to know my sister since she was Axel’s fiancee and you cared for Axel. What’s all this thing I am hearing about treason? I do not want to rebel against Alpha Paul!”

Talk about a dramatic addition to drive the final nail into the coffin.

Hannah struggled to her feet like her entire body was weak but she kept her head bowed. “I am sorry for bothering you. My sister will bring Alpha Paul here to talk. Please, choose your words with him. Don’t destroy a long friendship because of ridiculous thoughts that you have.”

That was when she turned around and made eye contact with Alpha Paul. Her lips parted in a broken gasp and she stumbled backwards, catching herself on the wall before she could fall down,

“A-Alpha,” she whispered. “I did not…I did not mean that… I was just…oh goddess…”

Alpha Paul completely ignored her and marched right to the clan leader. Rather than give up and keep his head down, he tried to retaliate and claw Alpha Paul. However, in his desperate struggle, Crane had not thought of the fact that he was battling an Alpha of actual Alpha blood.

Yes, Crane was strong but he was at best a good Delta.

Alpha Paul easily dismantled his attack and then slapped Crane so hard that his neck cracked out of place. Crane fell to the ground, his eyes still blinking as he tried to process what had happened to him.

Celestia was already crying as she backed away to the furthest wall. Alpha Paul was about to touch her and then paused, turning back to look at me. “Do you want to do the honours?”

My brows raised. I did not think that Alpha Paul would offer Celestia to me on a silver platter like that. Did he have a thing against hitting women in general or did he just know that I had a bit of a personal grudge with Celestia?

My answer was quickly provided when Alpha Paul walked to the dining table and picked Laeticia up by the back of her neck before tossing her beside her brother. He held her so hard that his fingers imprinted on her skin.

Hannah lowered to a squat, her entire body shivering with ‘fear’ but the look of satisfaction in her eyes was evident. Maybe for just this one time, we could call a truce and then resume everything tomorrow.

“Hannah,” I whispered and she looked up. I stepped out of the way, nudging my head towards the door, silently saying ‘Go. I will cover for you.’

Hannah’s frown was deep but she nodded, running out of the house. It might seem like that would be the start of a

turnaround in the relationship between us but I knew that this rivalry and her petty tricks would never end until she became Luna.

Soon enough, she would restart her antics.

When Hannah had disappeared out of sight, I walked towards Celestia. I dropped to a squat in front of her and she let out a small squeak, trying to disappear into the wall.

I grabbed her hair and tilted her head up so she could look at me. “You know, I did not really have a problem when you came. You could have been Axel’s childhood friend or mistress for all I cared.”

My voice was barely higher than a mumble that even I could not hear myself clearly. I had to speak that way so that the two Alphas in the room would not hear my words, particularly Alpha Paul. Axel and I were still behaving lovingly in front of him.

“However, you had to go and covet the Luna position,” I hissed a bit louder, tightening my grip. “How dare you even think about my mate? All those tiny dresses and the sexy poses. Those times you giggled a little too loudly… should rip your tongue out.”

“You cannot,” Alpha Paul said and I glanced at him over my shoulder with my jaw clenched.

“Yes, sir,” I replied and then faced her. That was all the drama that I needed to act.
